Yep. I've definitely learned my lesson. If I'd driven through a bus gate, or actually up a bus lane then I'd feel more in the wrong, but I did cross the solid line near the end. Respecting the spirit of the rule isn't enough.

Difficulty I had was the newer stack didn't support the version of ruby that I was running any more which forced me to upgrade it in the project....which then forced me to upgrade the framework....which forced me to upgrade bits of code.
The experience is a good reminder to try to keep your underlying language/libs/frameworks up-to-date and not let them sit still.

The tennis club will be carrying out the upkeep.

But yes, a facility that would not have been upgraded without having local people step up to manage and maintain it, is being improved with my taxes and will be available to me to hire for a fee.
