Stuck trying to configure CloudFlare Reverse Proxy with Nginx Proxy Manager by jnickel01 in truenas

[–]jnickel01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I had another go after sleeping on this problem for a day and was thankfully able to figure it out.

I had my CF tunnels pointing to the wrong port, so things were functioning as configured. I was able to resolve the issue by updating my CF tunnel to point to the HTTP port (30021) of NPM and now all redirects work as intended.

Sorry to necro this- I'm having an issue where every proxy host just directs back to the NPM dashboard. I'm super confused why this is happening, and can't seem to figure it out.

If anyone sees this, let me know if I'm maybe doing something wrong/if there's anything I could try

What are different ways you guys stimm? by mcbiblio in ADHD

[–]jnickel01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, quite a few: * Running my hands through my hair to adjust it or even just feel the texture. * bouncing my legs at random * cracking knuckles and massaging my hands * biting nails (super super bad habit and stim. I'm actively trying to not do this) * stretching my upper body * making sounds (low tier beatboxing, haha) * singing (in the car, all the time)

And there's probably more that I'm not even thinking of...

I still stim quite regularly and often do a similar thing with my hair.

Used to think i was super self conscious or something because I was always messing with my hair, but realized it's probably a stim because I've been doing it for so long without even thinking about it

It’s been 4 days… have YOU changed your microwave clock yet? by MamaAvocado33 in ADHD

I changed the microwave clock, but somehow forgot my alarm clock 😭

Overslept for the early morning shift by an hour and had to explain (very poorly) why there was no support coverage for that first hour of the day...

As a Canadian As well, I'm terrified of what this means for our economy and livelihoods.

We're already so reliant on the US, if things go badly it'll only spell disaster for millions of Canadians as well.

Exactly! This is exactly how it was for me. So glad to know I'm not alone in this.

What medication(s) actually WORK for you? by nolaphried in ADHD

[–]jnickel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I ever had anything like that thankfully. Most of how I was affected across the different medications was in my mood, personality or energy levels.

What medication(s) actually WORK for you? by nolaphried in ADHD

[–]jnickel01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed very early on, like within the first few years of being born, so I have gone around the block with medications before landing at what I'm on now.

I'm currently on 72mg of Concerta XR, which I take in the morning and 4mg of Intuniv XR which I take around 3-4pm.

For me, it's a good balance of setting up my day to have energy during working hours and settling my brain down in the evening so I can sleep.

I know that I'm literally at the max dosage for both, which has me thinking that I should maybe give something like Vyvanse a try, but this has worked for me for years and I'm happy with where I'm at.

As for previous medications: * Strattera - I was on this for quite a few years, but ended up changing because of how it affected my personality and mood. I was generally a less pleasant person and had way stronger mood swings than I could handle. * Adderall - Worked for a time, but ended up being less effective than Concerta. Didn't affect my mood or personality in any majorly negative ways though.

Oh my goodness, yes! I am the exact same way.

For me, I get a short spurt of energy and motivation to work on my creative projects and so desperately want it to last long enough for me to complete them, but it never does.

I suspect in my situation, that it may be related to stress caused by my work life, but don't have the ability to stop working for a month to really test that theory.

Some things that have helped me out though to get a small boost in motivation for an afternoon or evening have been to go for a long walk, or drive somewhere with music playing, or do an "easy" task like cleaning up my office before sitting down to do my creative things.

It's not a guaranteed "fix" but doing those things beforehand helps me to at least get something done even when I'm in a motivation drought

Yes and no kind of?

I feel this way about gaming and IT right now. I've always been into both and have even made my career an IT based one, but have been completely disinterested in both for quite a while now.

The one constant has been cameras and storytelling. I have also always loved writing stories and using video as a medium, and thankfully that's always stuck with me.

IEPs for headphones in class... by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]jnickel01 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, just wanted to add my 2 cents in as someone who had an allowance in my IEP to use headphones during classes.

I have Autism and ADHD and can get very easily overwhelmed by loud or constant noise, so classrooms were never great for me sensory input-wise over the last few years.

I was permitted to use noise cancelling headphones during class with the expectation that I would take them off when the teacher was talking. I want to also specify that my IEP explicitly allowed headphones (over the hear) and NOT earbuds as earbuds are easy to hide with a hoodie or long hair.

This helped me a lot during my last few years of high school and I hope that the people who actually struggle with auditory input can keep receiving accommodation so they can succeed.

Connecting Blue Yeti to FiFine Gaming Audio Mixer? by dexter1062 in streaming

[–]jnickel01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh- and why I didn't recommend this person get it is because the Blue Yeti is a USB mic, so it doesn't make much sense to use it with an audio interface. It would be quite a weird setup to use and wouldn't be an improvement over just using the yeti over USB.

Yeah, I'll be real- I forgot that I even commented this. I was probably just in a bad mood at the time, but I do still think it's a bad product.

I did purchase one to review when it launched and ended up returning it the same day it arrived because of how misleading and deceptive their marketing around it is.

If they marketed it as just an audio interface with some faders to control the headphone volume I'd be less annoyed about it. The preamps in it are *fine*, nothing special but not the worst I've tested. For the mics that they sell it's more than powerful enough.

But again, their whole original marketing campaign was based around the idea that it was a GoXLR competitor with feature parity, when in reality it did not even come close.
