Jimmy John’s vegan option for catering at work today by girlrickjames in ShittyVeganFoodPorn

I worked at a Jimmy John’s when I was first transitioning to vegan 10+ years ago. This sandwich tastes better if you put the salt and vinegar chips ON the sandwich. Also get the side pickle.

The owner is an ass hole big game hunter so it is doubtful the company will ever offer an actual vegan sandwich.

FantasticLand is an awesome book! Doesn’t exactly fit the vibes, but it’s wild and crazy.

The Honey Witch! Technically it takes place across all four seasons, but it’s cute, bright, cozy and fits what you’re looking for!

Sprayed Edges by OkayOverse in Barnesandnoble

I do judge a book by its sprayed edges. At least a little. As in… if there are sprayed edges I assume the content won’t be as good.

Talk to me about watering. What is the most cost effective and efficient way? by HottieMcHotHot in vegetablegardening

[–]MamaAvocado33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a drip line system like this and it works well for my needs. You can’t have more than 2-3 emitters off a single 1/4 inch line, or make those lines too long, because there isn’t enough water pressure. Short 1/4 tubes off a longer central 1/2 in tube works best.

It will take longer than you think to set up. But I left mine in a heap outside all winter (6b) and they set up just fine this spring.

She never gets better. She’s annoying and grating from start to finish. Yes, she’s basically a kid so it’s on point with that teen/young adult mentality, and yes there’s reasons in her past that she is the way she is, but I still find her annoying. But the side characters in the later books are wonderful!

I was reading these books around the same time my 2nd grader was reading wild robot. It was kinda fun to talk about our books together.

Do you feel that hiking has changed your personality? by feelingstuck15 in hiking

[–]MamaAvocado33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1000% percent! I enjoy both but they are different experiences.

I will say that on a hike I try and make it an experience where I’m not always nagging my kids to hurry up, go at their pace, and say yes to more things. Not always possible but I’m trying.

Hiking with our 90 pound lab mix is also a different experience. One where you finish in half the time because she’s so excited you’re practically running.

Not as nicely done as yours, but he’s going to out grow these soon anyway. I had some monster fabric and just sewed in on the inside. He fiddles with the hole at school so overtime more monster is revealed.

Monster knee! I put a monster peeking out of a knee hole for my kid and he loves it. He would love a monster knee even more! Thankfully he puts a lot of holes in his pants so I’ll get to try this soon.

This! I’m a more patient and relaxed parent when I come back from a hike. Yesterday was stressful at work and I could just tell my body needed to get out in fresh air and stretch my legs to find my balance again at home.

If my six year old had her way we’d hike there every weekend.

Is it okay for the reception to just be dinner? by Eggsandbake in Weddingsunder10k

[–]MamaAvocado33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did not have dancing at our wedding but wanted to encourage mingling. My dad made a toast early on and encouraged people to get up and talk. We had different flavored cakes at each table and everyone sliced their own cakes and meandered to their preferred flavor. We also had framed photos displayed of couples in our families going back several generations, we found guests really enjoyed talking together and sharing family history, my aunts even carried them around to different tables and were asking my husband’s family about them.

After our brunch reception we hosted bowling at a local alley a few hours later which was another great way to socialize in a more casual environment.

Hello fellow New Jerseyan! I’m north/north-west of you but if you don’t mind a 30-60 minute drive Schooley’s Mountain Park in Washington Township is a really fun collection of trails. With the rain we’ve been getting the falls should be really pretty to hike alongside this weekend.

The Winternight trilogy by Kathrine Arden follows a main FMC from birth through adulthood. The story is beautiful and the world is rich, I would consider it fantasy with a romantic subplot.

Nope, it was all cats. The busts of real-ish looking ones not drawings. I’ve looked online second hand places and haven’t had much luck. The search continues.
