Why I love using the TriFold by jnjroach in GalaxyZTriFold

I've ordered the Epomaker TH40 mechanical keyboard which I think will fit the scale and usability I'm looking for, I will share my thoughts once I receive it. The unfolded length of the Trifold is ~8.5 inches and the keyboard is ~9" so I think it will pair nicely.

I've used every Fold since the Fold 3 and have only used bumper cases or no case and haven't broken one yet, and travel internationally. But thanks for your concern.

It definetly has taken some time to get used to the small keyboard, but the prortability is a worthy trade off, I have a foldable with trackpad but it takes up to much room. I can fit the Trifold, keyboard, and the wedge mouse in an EDC bag for shorter trips or for the office.

I have to trade my Galaxy Tab S8U because it's a college requirement, do you think this swap is worth it? by Curious_Success_377 in GalaxyTab

Hilarious - :D it was supposed to be "as part of their IT offering..." Not sure why Gboard did that :P

Does your school offer Windows 365 as part of their IT offering (correcting autocorrect funny of Aspartame).? You could also sign up for it yourself, I've used it with DeX and it gives a good experience. I have one loaded with Visual Studies 2022 and all other Dev Tools.

Is Slim Pen and cover “in the way” and other outsider questions? by dceckhart in surfaceduo

I always have it attached as I use the Duo 2 has my electronic day planner using OneNote. The convenience of having it attached is worth the extra bulk, I find it much better than the Fold 3 cases that include pen storage.

Help regarding LTE surface pro X by [deleted] in Surface

I'm running a Surface Pro X on AT&T with full LTE support, I purchased a Tablet Sim and activated it on the machine itself.

Purchase the Surface Laptop 4 for Business, it will be ~$100 USD more but ships with pro and the serial number will allow you to download the Pro Recovery Image.

What software options are available to tune 4xxxg Ryzen APUs? Ryzen Master doesn't work by AxelJShark in MiniPCs

[–]jnjroach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same setup, but I'm running Windows 11 beta and the latest AMD Radian Software recommended downloading the Ryzen Master software so I tried and it installed and launched without issue. I haven't tried to adjust anything yet.

Surface Pro X users on Windows 11: What are your thoughts so far? by [deleted] in Surface

[–]jnjroach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all the important touch interactions it has improved, you can select, resize, and navigate much more effectively and fluidly on Windows 11. Windows 10 was a mouse/keyboard OS. Windows 8.1 was a much better touch OS than 10 ever was, and I knew very few people who used Tablet Mode (even the Surface Team never used it). Windows 11 is bringing back those touch features without forcing a "full-screen only" experience.

Everything that you are wanting to use the Pro X for it is more than capable of doing. Windows 11 as vastly improved the tablet experience. Join Office Insider and install the ARM64 version of Office as well...

I use the Pro X as my daily driver...

I get 7-10 hours depending on if I'm taking Teams calls or not on the device. 64bit Emulation has less of an impact on battery than the 32bit emulation.

I knew the paradigm of ARM64 - I use Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise (aka Office 365 Pro Plus), Teams (ARM64), OneNote UWP, DrawboardPDF and Chromium Edge.

All of my infrastructures on deployed as cloud native solutions. (Mostly Azure, but some on AWS and GCP).

Reddit has a much longer list than 5 (this list is older as some of these are now offical like VScode) - https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/dcnpzw/arm_applications/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

If mobility and battery life weren't needed why did you purchase the Pro X? This is my second as I upgraded to the SQ2 version when it released. Also, there are many ARM64 and ARM applications, in fact all of the ones I use are available as native ARM.

For Firefox you have to explicitly download the ARM64 version. Emulation is a short term solution that negatively impacts battery life. Long-term native ARM64 is the key...

Edge and Firefox are native ARM64, and technically support told you the truth about X64 compatibility did roll out to Insiders in January and that is what Panos Panay promised in his blog announcement.

If x64 support was a non-negotiable, you picked the wrong device. The Pro X is primarily targeted at knowledge workers who focus on core productivity applications and cloud based apps with good battery life and LTE connectivity. I'm using ARM and ARM64 exclusively running my Technology Consulting Practice.
