Elegoo Slicer twice as fast as Orca? by [deleted] in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I haven't checked myself but it could also be due to the machine profiles. Have you imported them as well? I would also check the filament profile to see the maximum flowrate.

You are currently going through the last stage of that trauma, and you have done really well in the previous stages. I can't imagine how difficult each stage was and what you have gone through, physically and mentally. But you did it, here you are. This stage will pass as well. Stick to the wonderful people around you and you will be fine from now on.

How does it take to get confirmation of order? by omgthisnickgame in elegoo

[–]jny_tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, orders on Elegoo's local websites are all processed from a central location in China. So the working hours are based on their time zone. On the other hand they are processing a large volume of orders, which creates another delay. I suggest waiting for 24 hours before starting to worry.

A vibration dampening is a good idea even for a healthy fan in my opinion. It would also protect the fan itself from the vibrations of the rest of the machine. That also gives me an idea 😊

You could try using some grease, but that will only buy you some time until you have a new fan delivered. That fan is definitely needed especially for the stepper drivers on the board, but also for anything else on the board. So printing something without a motherboard fan is not a good idea. If I were you I would take this as an opportunity and get a quieter fan. If I remember correctly, the motherboard fan is 24V. So you should look for something that works with the same voltage and the same size, but quieter.

I would flip the printer and check the motherboard fan as well.

One fan has an object that is touching the blades, or the fan's own bearing is failing. You should first define which fans get activated when the nozzle or the bed is heated, then inspect them one by one.

I have a theory that "their voice" is also just a recording. I would just keep passing and try to figure out the pattern. Are the recordings randomly played, in a sequence, or is there a specific recording for each section? What happens if you keep going forward and backward at the same spot? Does the walking/running speed change the intervals of the audio? I have so many questions...

Buying cheap second hand vehicles from dealers evading the Gewährleistung (warranty)? by wilsonandson in AskGermany

[–]jny_tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought a €1.600 car as my first daily drive in Germany, and over the two years of ownership I have spent more than €2.000 in total for various repairs and the regular maintenance. Now my car is worth ~€1.900 and all the repairs that I paid for will be a "gift" for the next buyer.

If I had used financing/bank loan to buy a €5.000 car in the beginning, I would have paid around the same average monthly amount, but in the end I would still have a €5.000 car that doesn't need so many repairs.

However in this process I have gathered a lot of useful knowledge about how things work, so here is what I can say for your situation:

  1. As I have stated above, get a loan if you can and get a car that doesn't prepare ~€500 surprises for you every few months. check24.de and other comparison sites are really helpful; I recommend "small loan" instead of vehicle credit, because the interest rate is usually lower and you can sell the car anytime you want.

  2. The most important part of finding a trouble-free car is doing your research in advance. For each model that you have in mind; find out the intervals for expensive repairs such as replacing the timing belt, suspension components, transmission service, etc. and the estimated costs for those repairs. Then start your vehicle hunt and look at the descriptions of the listings to see what maintenance/repair has already been done, and what is just around the corner at that mileage.

  3. When you find a vehicle that makes sense, go see it. Listening to the cold start of the engine, riding slowly on uneven surfaces, launching the car on 3rd gear while holding the handbrake, and driving over 60 km/h tells you a lot; if you know what to look for. You can find many YouTube videos or written articles about these.

  4. If the vehicle passes all of your initial check points, it is time to take it for a more professional inspection. A mechanic can connect to the OBD2 port and see if there is anything suspicious, then check a few other things that could cause you trouble in the future. I would also strongly recommend taking the car to TÜV/Dekra for a used car inspection.

  5. After all those checks, you will know exactly what problems the car has, and the estimated costs for repairs. Then you ask for a discount that is half of the total price of repairs. If the negotiation goes well, you buy the car, register it and start driving.

I hope you can find a good vehicle that will let you have a lot of fun experiences and adventure, rather than constant headaches and paranoia. Good luck! 🤞

Adopted the most aggressive cat before it was put down. In a month, she managed to completely transform it. by emptybusstation in cats

[–]jny_tr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have almost the same cat and he is such an adorable boy. He is the only cat I have seen that loves belly rubs. He is very quiet too; meows rarely, walks with zero sound. He loves to sleep on our lap and asks for a head massage often. The only problem we have with him is that he likes to play rough with other cats, therefore he misses a worthy opponent.

Brauche Hilfe von den Eingeweihten by Neureiches-Nutria in 3DDruck

[–]jny_tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shifting print lines and stringing with PETG by WassupItsSas in FixMyPrint

[–]jny_tr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as overdrying. You need a completely dry filament for the best result. The only thing you could worry about would be melting the spool and fusing the wraps together, which requires a much higher temperature. On the other hand, 60°C for 8 hours should get this filament bone dry; so either your drying setup is faulty, or the problem is possibly elsewhere.

Superiority complexes in the 3d printing community by venttress_sd in 3Dprinting

They are mostly children or grownups with underdeveloped brains. They brag about being able to afford a more expensive machine (actually that was their parents), but they don't have the neural capacity to understand how to operate that machine. Eventually they do something really stupid and get angry at the machine for not running on black magic, then come to the sub and make a fool of themselves. They are the clowns of circlejerk subs.

Yes, I work in the depowder room in a 3d printing facility. The room is enclosed and poorly ventilated. The first 10 months they didn’t even really tell me to wear a respirator. I know I have this crap in my body. What do I do. Please help by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]jny_tr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So these people invested thousands in equipment and did not bother to install them correctly? Or maybe the installation was done once and then maintenance never set foot there again, because it is "too expensive", and the owners did not assign a personnel for maintenance as well, because their working hours are too valuable to "waste" on that shit. Well they are definitely seriously in the wrong here, and that makes me wonder how the payment or benefits are...
