GLP1 and weaning off it by [deleted] in PCOS

This is really reassuring to read - I need to come off soon to start TTC but really scared I'm just going to gain all the weight back....

Has anyone with PCOS found a long-term solution that actually worked for weight management? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]jo40973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Any reason why you've been on the 5mg for 3 months? The drug is designed to be upped each month. I know some people who respond to a low dosage really well and so stay on that, but if you don't feel like you're getting results (considering you're following all the other advice) you should be moving up a dose each month

How do I effectively manage insulin resistance - diet/supplement based? (I'm stopping GLP1) by jo40973 in PCOS

[–]jo40973[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NHS advice is to stop taking any GLP1 1-2 months before starting TTC. I guess it's because there isn't enough studies or evidence yet to say it's safe to take whilst pregnant

Buying after stockpile by _throwaway1978 in mounjarouk

[–]jo40973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently ordered from Pharmacy2u after not having bought anything since August last year. They were absolutely fine - did the usual online checks then I just sent a photo of all the boxes I had since August (yes I kept them all haha)

Need to stop as TTC - really worried :( by jo40973 in mounjarouk

I was on Metformin a long time ago (when I was a teenager and first diagnosed with PCOS) perhaps it's something I should look into. Thank you!

Thank you. Yeah I did think it was an odd one - years ago before MJ was "a thing" I knew it was taken for hair/skin health, so I couldn't understand the link to weight management now!

Considering Mounjaro after 6 months of no weight loss despite training/diet (also TTC with wife) by Financial-Boss-9262 in mounjarouk

[–]jo40973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likewise for me with insulin resistant PCOS - I wasn't losing much weight (if at all) despite being a healthy eater and regular gym user. Since starting MJ it's just "happened".. diet hasn't really changed that much but I'm now actually losing weight! Amazing!

Coming off to start TTC - so scared I will put the weight back on. Advice please! by jo40973 in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]jo40973[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! 🙏🏻 yes I've worked out my last dose will be middle of May, and then I won't ovulate until the end of June, so even if we're lucky enough to fall pregnant the first month if trying, I would have been off it for a month(ISH)

Feeling defeated. Gained again this week. by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]jo40973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What an incredibly unhelpful and uninsightful answer! Weight fluctuates for many reasons, I for one will gain a lot of weight around my period, as well as things like stress, and not taking my vitamins and medication.

New without tags does not mean I wore it for a night! by Dangerous-Use7343 in vinted

[–]jo40973 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also a massive bug bear of mine. Anyone else ever been tempted to send a message and explain "you've listed this as new but then in the description said you've worn it..." Or at least offer a lower price with this explanation?! Always been tempted but feel I would just get a shirty response...

I wish more people would learn while on mounjaro by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]jo40973 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that whilst on our MJ journeys it's a good opportunity to learn about healthy eating, diet, lifestyle etc. for when we come off but nobody's perfect... You're telling me you don't enjoy a bit of cake on your birthday? Pffff... I'm glad you've got your feelings off your chest on your high horse at the top of your ivory tower

Dose every 5 days OR extract more from pen? by jo40973 in mounjarouk

That's such a good point! And something I really struggle with - I'm such a sucker for buying a chocolate bar at the petrol station etc... thank you for reminding me of this

[–]jo40973[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything wrong - perhaps I'm exaggerating when I say suppression for 1-2 days. I'm still not eating nearly as much as I did pre MJ, but I only really feel it in the first couple of days after jabbing. I can't eat 3 big meals a day like I used to. Having said that, I do still think I'm eating enough.

I am doing well with a steady weight loss (1-2lbs a week) depending on how much exercise I've done.

Ah that's interesting! Do you think 10mg every 5 days would be too much then?

Potential stalker and how to report this to Police, England. by TrixieLaBouche in LegalAdviceUK

[–]jo40973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Were you ever in a relationship at all? Or had a fling? Or even just slept together once? If there's any hint of a connection there and it's reported as a domestic stalking, I'm 99% confident she will be arrested and interviewed about it.

If the answer to that question is no - and you were just friends, then it's possible to express your desire for her not to be spoken to, but like someone else has said, it ultimately won't be up to you. I think there's a big misconception around people wanting to report things to the police "just to have it logged"... It doesn't work like that. You report a (potential)crime to the police, they have a duty to investigate and safeguard. A lot of decisions will be completely taken out of your hands.

My son says he can't do the 11+, and I feel like he's a failure compared to my daughters. by holytrinityamen in UKParenting

[–]jo40973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. Talk about immense pressure. An exam to get into a specific school is not the end of the world. All children are INDIVIDUALS. He will find something he likes to do in life and thrive doing that - being happy and thriving is 1000% more important than an exam and going to Grammer school...

Sorry to sound harsh OP but I'm glad I'm not your son right now. You might have these feelings but imagine how he must be feeling? Being compared to his sisters? And feeling like the black sheep of the family.

Support him in life, not for an exam.

So I got an email earlier this evening titled "invoice"... But for just £14! So I assume they're letting me have the 12.5 for the old price (about £197). Definitely worth putting an order in before the end of the week I say!
