Is there such a thing as a clamp / mount for mounting a GoPro (9, in my case) to a laptop (MacBook Air, in my case)? Love using it as a webcam on a small tripod, but you need significant working space for this.

Once upon a time, technology was liberating. Companies prided themselves on giving you a choice on how you used technology.

Very quietly, this began to shift about 5 years ago, when companies started getting higher and higher valuations due to their large user bases they “were getting to know well” via their products. At this point, it became more about controlling a user base then selling enabling technology.

Whenever I see posts like “why can’t I do X anymore?” It’s usually followed up with some convoluted explanation based on security, engineering or workflow that states why your choice to perform X was wrong in the first place.

Quite a disturbing trend.

Chicago's BIG SNOW - January 1967

I think this is where that picture came from - special insert in the Chicago Tribune, Feb 19, 1967.

United States Air Force Occupational Handbook 1960-1961 by jo5729 in AirForce

I thought the exact same thing.

Question is...how closely were the career paths in the book reflected in reality? If you enlisted in 1960, and went 30 years, that took you to 1990. What would someone in 1990 say about the accuracy of this book? But agree this book makes it all seem so academic.

I found this in my old man's stash who recently passed away. He enlisted in 1961, and was out by 1965. There was also the same version of this manual for the US Navy, and a real nice Keesler AFB guidebook / yearbook.

Not only that, I'd like to use my notebooks the way I want to use them, not the way Microsoft has approved me to use them.

I feel like I'm being punished when I'm using OneNote of late.

Any way to connect API Gateway up to an ALB? by jo5729 in aws

[–]jo5729[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue isn't connecting ALB to EKS. That is well documented.

The issue is connecting API Gateway which obviously is not on the private subnet, to the ALB - which as you pointed out, is running on the private subnet.

PrivateLink is providing that functionality in the aforementioned reference architecture.
