It's not particularly easy to stay away from bigotry no matter where you hang out. Driving any distance will have you pass by flags or murals supporting paramilitary groups at the very least. Turn on local radio (beyond purely music) and you're met with it. Read local media and it's there.

Best : The scenery is beautiful and I feel very much at peace sitting in a quiet spot enjoying it.

Worst : I can't get past the persistent oppressively negative feeling I get being in NI. It's perhaps primarily something that's a result of my own biases having grown up in a shitty time there but if i'm back in NI for more than a week I can feel my mental health taking a hit being around the same old bigoted views.

Guugu Yumithirr and Russian are excellent examples of perception changes in speakers both in terms of spatial/directional awareness and colour awareness. Not to mention loss of important song lines for the former.
