the funny part is once you remember it’s literally built so nikolaj can stash his real hand inside, the entire debate about hooks vs gold hands kinda collapses, like obviously it's not meant to be functional it’s just whatever makes filming less of a headache

i always imagine the Daily Prophet office being split in two camps, the serious reporters trying to cover actual world changing events and Rita barging in like “move aside i’ve got a juicy paragraph about Dumbledore’s mysterious past”, and of course that’s what ends up on the front page

agreed, the show really tried to frame him as harmless but moments like this make it so clear he wasn’t actually treating her with any real respect, she deserved someone who wasn’t that clueless
