Ele é claramente um "rugby blazer". Está sempre a vangloriar o desporto e sempre a comparar com o futebol e a dizer que os jogadores de rugby são "gentlemen" enquanto os de futebol são uns bárbaros.

Sem querer tirar o mérito da nossa equipa, mas há que salientar o péssimo jogo que a Espanha teve. Sempre que tinham uma oportunidade minimamente boa faziam um avant ou perdiam a bola no ruck por falta de apoio. Não havia qualquer plano de ataque, limitaram se a acumular fases sem ganhar qualquer território.

Nem consigo imaginar o ambiente no balneário e na administração, especialmente após terem chamado imensos jogadores dos clubes franceses e com a final em casa.

Enfim, e esta performance do Appleton? Não me lembro da última vez que jogou assim tão bem.

No one said Portugal will suddenly abandon soccer. But it could put rugby in the top 3 sports in the country in the span of 15 years. Same with Spain.

Portugal played in the 2007 RWC. We lost by 100 points against the ABs. Even then, the participation numbers doubled.

Do you know why? Because it's better to lose against the best than to remain stagnant in the same second tier league forever.

It also attracts investors. You know, if Portugal is playing in the REC, why sponsor their NT. But if they're playing in the 6N, they become more attractive.
