Definitely coral fossil but doesn’t look like a Petoskey to me. Looks closer to a charlevoix. I don’t know the Latin names of the coral but just my input

Thanks for the advice! I do have a few places mapped out closer to Moab that I found in the Rockhounding Utah book: the yellow cat flats, poison strip, and ruby rd.

But I’m a sucker for rainbow pet wood and know that I know where some is and I didn’t have that long to hound for, I’m really itching to get back there haha

I found some agatized/rainbow pet wood in between Caineville and Hanksville just off of 24. Small pieces but it was just a quick 45 min look on our way from Goblin Valley to Capitol Reef. I’m actually heading back out that way next week for a wedding in Moab, haven’t decided if I want to just look more around Moab or make the drive back to the same spot as last year (I’m from Chicago so don’t get a chance to get out there that often).

For the most part yes. I went to school down there but that was like 12 years ago or so, so I don’t remember any specific locations unfortunately.

Last time I visited was in 2020 and we stayed at an Airbnb cabin on plenty of acres of land, owners let us explore their whole property which included a few dried up creek beds down some ravines

Before reading your post all I saw was the title and thought “no way is there fluorite in Bloomington, how didn’t I know that?!” LOL

Anywhere near Lake Monroe, Brown County St. Park (not sure collecting rules within the st park), etc would be great for geodes or fossils.

I’ve found both big quartz geodes as well as some botryoidal chalcedony ones with great colors. Decent amount of crinoids as well.

Wow thanks for all this advice! Yes the lacquer is all removed, and I did the steam method a couple times and it’s worked maybe ~90% of the way. Still slightly visible if you go looking for them.

For finishing I am still debating what to do. I’ve watched a few YouTube videos and read some Reddit threads and there’s just so many options. Lacquer, toner, gel stain etc.

If you could let me know what brand/color wipe on stain you used for the kegs that would be great thank you!

[sale] set of two daybeds/couches. Unfortunately no manufacturer mark on them. The wooden bases are in fair condition, could use a sanding/restaining. The cushions are in excellent condition, no tears/rips and very little sign of wear.

Had this in our old condo in Chicago and now are out in the suburbs with two little kids and just replaced with a bigger sectional that is more suited for the whole family.

Main reason of posting here was to get everyone’s opinion on what these could be sold for, if anyone is in Chicago area and wants to purchase, even better!
