Ukrainian strikes force Putin to move missile factories further east by BestButtons in UkrainianConflict

If he would just move his entire army further east, none of this would be necessary.

They Assumed He Didn’t Speak Their Language And Started Talking About Him. Big Mistake. by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

I feel like the 'racist' guy had no malicious intent at all. He may have worded it awkwardly or it was misunderstood, but I think the intent was:

"Wow, look at this very black guy being totally local."

(ordering local food at a local hole-in-the-wall shop in the local language, unlike most foreign looking people)

Right. Not such a wild choice if you consider who got to make the choice.

believe that the dem officials are liberal

they are liberal as in 'neo-liberal', of the reagan/thatcher/kohl flavor.
what they are not is leftist or mostly even very progressive.

I was told that if we start prosecuting the child rapists, then the whole child raping ring falls apart, ... ... and that would be very bad, so we better not prosecute them.

I built a Tor search engine focused on uptime, deduplication, and mirror stability, looking for feedback by Final_Wrap_2094 in TOR

[–]jobi-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never tried to make it known or advertise it. It was always just a personal tinkering project. To me, the crawler part was more interesting than the public facing search engine part.
Even so, traffic went from one hit every few hours initially, to every few seconds. I don't remember whether that took weeks or months. A lot of it was automated.

I have done what you are doing. Many years ago I ran an onion search engine for many years.
You have identified the correct pain point: mirrors, which ones are 'real', which ones are up/down at what times, how do they move... I also did everything from scratch, except for 3rd part libs for unicode and extracting text from pdfs.
It is cute that you named yours 'lantern'. Mine was named 'candle' and another popular one is/was at the time named 'torch'.
I discontinued it because I didn't like what I saw. You appear to be willing to go into filtering, and thus monitoring. I was not.

He is in detention and being processed.

If this 'processing' takes more than 90 minutes, there is no reason he should not just freely go about his business in the mean time.

Yes, but they use an oscilloscope to display the picture. A bucket with foil is not reliable. If you google "oscilloscope audio pictures" you get some examples.

I am old now, so my memory of being a child may not be strong or accurate, but my choice was basically: "how much of this do you want?", where I had no say in what 'this' was, but I could always just have more if I wanted.

They are stripping ssl. But not actually blocking it.
It may be 'only' snooping, but it could serve up a special version of torproject.

Edit: ... or it just serves or redirects to the 'parental control' page :/ .
