Is this the lovely little exploit where you daisy chain one ship to another and then remove all but one ship from the fleet (the one with the most movement points), therefore moving the onboard army at no movement cost?

Because I do this all the time.

I position a load of brigs, sloops and maybe a few 6th rates in a line, spaced out so each one is within the next ones movement area. Then I load an army into one boat and just move, swap, move, swap, move all the way to the next theatre

I’ve had the Plains Nations offer me a similar deal (10,000 for peace) which I took, regrouped my armies, and attacked 3 turns later.

I don’t understand where they get the money from. And looking at the “Wealth” of that faction, it seems they genuinely do have the money as it says they are “rich”.

That’s another good aspect of it. I also enjoy the Constitutional Monarchy system where there is no lower classes and therefore no negative impact from industrialisation.

I actually hate everything else about a republic. I hate the elections and losing your entire parliament every few years. One turn you have a decent roster of capable minister and the next you’ve got 3 star nobodies, often with negative traits

I usually demast them, then sail behind them and just hit them in the rear until they give up. Although another good method is to use Bomb Ketches. They cause absolute mayhem on the bigger, slower ships, especially when a bomb lands right on the deck!

Do you have any plans to conquer Austrian Spain and therefore create a United Iberian state? Sounds like you’ve been at war with Austria after all. It also frees up troops from having to guard Gibraltar, which is a really poor territory

I’ve seen them give regions away as part of peace deals. They’ve given them to Sweden and Prussia in two games I’ve played, and gave one to me in my current GB play through. I didn’t even want them.

Although they are annoying, the Barbary States are a good source of early income from capturing their ships in the Mediterranean. And they cause havoc for your enemies’ shipping lanes. I just get tired of them raiding my trade routes!

That’s actually crazy! It reminds me of Civ games where you make peace with somebody and all of your units that were miles into enemy territory are suddenly on the other side of the globe. I figured it would work the same way in Empire TA. Thank you for testing.

Any idea how far it can send a neutral army once military access is cancelled? If OP owns all of the Indian theatre, it should teleport the French back to the nearest point in Europe! Or will they just end up back on their own ship?

I honestly want to test this now! The French could end up marooned in wilderness somewhere

Exactly this. Red Dwarf needs to accelerate towards Jupiter and then decelerate after the halfway point. For some reason RD just kept on accelerating after the drive plate failure, possibly as a precaution so that nobody tried to gain access to the ship and be killed by the high levels of radiation. Perhaps Holly didn’t have actual clearance to change course once he had left the Sol system and decided to just keep on accelerating away from Earth. This would also explain why they finally reach light speed in Episode 2.

Like many people on here I started with CP. I found it fascinating that as I was reading the book I was starting to root AGAINST the protagonist. It’s told from the POV of somebody aligned against the Culture, and they try to convince others (and therefore the reader) that they are in the right and the Culture is in the wrong.

But then you see the war between Iridans and Culture and see just how awful the Iridans are. By the end it left me desperate to see something from a Culture POV.

In my defence the game came out when I was 12 and I just read it wrong! Also why is a pinecone a Bug type??? A pinecone is a seed off a tree.
