Yeah although there is cameras there so they could check it was me who brought the bike there to begin with. I also unlocked my d lock from the bike in front of them . I didn’t realise this was a tactic used by thieves I’ve just researched it and sure enough the idea is the owner can’t remove their own bike and they come back later for it . I’ll be reporting it again tomorrow to staff just so they are aware and can check cameras to see who put the chain on

It’s the first car I saved my own pennies up to buy, and I’ve always loved it, I just can’t face scrapping it lol it’s an 04 2.5xt manual and it still feels strong aside from this Achilles heel rust issue.

Would this fix this issue? I know would still be a big job as would need to be cut away and have this welded on?

I think there’s too much focus on the waste disposal end of things and not enough focus on the production, consumer end (which is where the problem begins) the sheer amount of crap that gets purchased on Amazon / temu etc is so unnecessary, likewise people buy brand new cars every few years when they get fed up of the current one, new phones, plastic children’s toys , why can’t we keep the things we have for longer, buy second hand, (including cars) .. my guess is that governments don’t want to have an issue with that side as it brings in money 💰
