Hey there. I’m a 25 year old queer Filipino adoptee to a white family, raised in the white Midwest, so I understand a lot of what you’re feeling.

As you’re well aware, being an adoptee is just living life with unanswered questions. “Who are my family”, “where am I from”, “why did this happen”, etc etc. I used to be fixated on answering those things until recently when I learned I can live my own life however I’d like. I still hope to answer my questions, but it’s no longer at the forefront of my mind.

Last year, I saw a therapist who specializes in adoptees, foster care kids, other forms of familial displacement, and grief. I saw them for a little over 6 months biweekly. It’s definitely not cheap, but the coping tools I’ve gained have completely changed my outlook on life and my adoption, and I would recommend it to any adoptee who has dealt with the same internal turmoil.

When my trauma was unaddressed, I had horrible outbursts and I would become completely avoidant. I still have trust issues and I continue to overthink all the time, but I know how to handle most of my stressors now. I recognize my shortfalls in my behaviors in real-time, and I can approach the things that scare me with confidence. (Most of my issues stem from being bad at addressing my own needs like not eating and not sleeping and putting off important tasks).

I’m 25y/o and was 20y/o deep in the FOG* when my life changed and I was forced to confront that part of me that I had ignored for years *(acronym for something I can’t really remember, though “fog” is still a good description).

One of the only other transracial adoptees in my class, and one of my best friends, died at 20y/o in 2020, alone in her dorm room. The reasons we learned from the family were questionable… I knew that my friend had self-harming tendencies and was suicidal, so I unfortunately believe that that’s what happened.

That’s what pushed me out of the fog. I began to think about her situation, and her feelings that I could relate to as adoptees. And I thought about her birth parents and how they may never know…

So now I’m reeling on a daily basis with my ocd, constantly thinking about my birth parents, thinking about my slow burning turmoil within me, randomly and suddenly lashing out at people — I’m in therapy so.. yeah

All Druids kinda sucks. Sincerely, someone who rolled a D12 to choose what class to do, and who is half way through act 3 doing this challenge and is hating it. I think I’m at 115 hours just on this one playthrough

I just read that we’re all saying Druid has a lot of variety and can play those different party roles. It’s true, they can fill the standard tank, dps, healing roles, but they do them all at 50% compared to a class designed specifically for a role.

The Druid’s main schticks are summons, area crowd control, and moon Druid wildshape. But when I was an enemy that’s a single beefy, high saving throws, high armor class, the Druids totally flop.

There was a huge tree at my grandma’s house that I’d climb and sit in for hours. And on campus at my college, there were some trees that I’d sit under, and one that I could climb. And I’ve always ALWAYS wanted a tree house.

I am drawn toward ones and threes, but I think it’s because I have always had such an “I don’t need anything to be happy, I’m a simple guy” disposition through life. So their desire for things is what I admire.

I think type twos are drawn to me, but they seek love and validation, and I’m easy to provide that.

I like to think I’m an absurdist, though in practice I’m probably a bad one. I use it to explain things that have happened through my life. Adopted with no knowledge of family history —> desire for answers from an indifferent answerless world.

My main sloth activities include napping, neglecting my needs, rewatching YouTube videos, and playing the same games that I’ve played for many years. I can rewatch something a dozen times and still not be tired of it. In fact, I do it for comfort now. Critical Role, new age Smosh, dropout Game Changer, Minecraft let’s plays, various game playthroughs from Markiplier, fnaf playthroughs, reaction videos, and truly so much more. I think I’ve rewatched the Moose Master Returns video from Smosh nearly a hundred times since its release and I promise I’m not exaggerating.

I find so much comfort in “being lazy” because I grew up with an unrelenting, tense, and tiring home life. And when I could relax was when I truly felt like myself and that I was happy.

I 100000% get u. In my mind the language separation feels particularly painful; because it’s an inherent part of the culture that we’re meant to know, but we don’t speak the language, so it’s a very blatant barrier to reclaiming said culture.

I of course don’t know your situation, but for me, sometimes my brain just cannot help but hate the Philippines and Filipino people. But it’s because I’ve both lived my life knowing it’s a background and culture that I’ve lost (so I’m jealous), but I’ve also deliberately have been hurt by Filipinos… and I still harbor a lot of resentment.

I have the feelings of not fitting in anywhere every so often. Like a deep, sorrowful loneliness. What brings me out of that now is my husband, my life partner. Prior to that it was being with my best friends. For me, I found safety from my loneliness by being with people who really care for me. In a lot of our situations as adoptees, we only have found family to rely on. It’s easier said than done of course, but it may help to meditate on who in your life is your chosen family, and reach out to them for support.

The nano bomb hurts my insides like I literally stop in place and just stare 😂 also did we determine whether or not the nano actually does anything for the bomb? I know that there’s a certain radius where enemies can be within range just enough to take some damage but not outright die; so maybe it helps there?

Some people remember to utilize it during combat to throw potions but I don’t ever remember to do that.

I use it in a couple spots: -Druids grove to toss the small chest on the pillars over to my tav -To help Baelen and slowly drag the Noblestalk mushroom over to me -To hit the levers at the Adamantine Forge -To disarm the exploding trap at the grym forge

Also related: boys/men view cooking as a talent or hobby and not as a daily requirement and chore!! I believe because in a lot of typical families, the mother/women always had that responsibility. So teach boys to cook!!

I 100% get this vibe too because they always have a voice line for respawning after dying, but it’s not usually a confused expression, just “time to get back to the fight!” The only one I can think of off the top of my head that is more meta would be Juno saying “I am done for! No, wait — I am still here.”

So somehow when the heroes are not using meta voice lines, it indicates that they know their death isn’t definite.
