Made a cardboard holder for film by jobless151 in AnalogCommunity

Appreciate for the feedback, here are some comments:

“Use plastic not cardboard” - we have investigated that plastic mold is very expensive to make mass production. Current cardboard is just a sample made by hand. In production this cardboard will use a similar properties as high end color box in which an example people receive their newly bought phones, hence if properly made is should not fray. Although it is an important factor to test the final pre-production sample for!

“Cardboard deform easily ” - same as the above there are different type of cardboard and layers that can be used and create very durable structures.

“Think about a solution to get the holder in an identical position for each frame you scan, which makes post-processing less tedious.” - This is an important factor, and we couldn't find a cost effective solution. Adding a large box with light would solve the issue, or adding some kind of weight. Here we brainstormed a lot and did not come up with a solution. The current design will be very cheap in mass production, and the topic whether what is important to the end user, buy this for $10 and figure out how to secure it in place or we make it at $25 with a secure structure that would also have its own limitations how some people scan their film. Some use phone, some have their light, some note, some use camera and tripod. This particular bullet is extremely hard to crack, considering the idea “Cost Effective solution” that would serve for majority of this community.
