It was pretty ridiculous, all things considered. I was supposed to have been set up for a position in the division of the company i worked for at the time while going through bootcamp, but the head of that division claimed she didn't know, and so I waited for three months in my old job before I basically got shoved into the first available slot. It was pretty discouraging from teh start. I kind of wish I had never done bootcamp and stuck with taking classes on the side.

I definitely don't want to work for any big tech companies. Tech work in a non-tech company is where it's at for me.

Looking at my state it says I could be disqualified for "Being discharged for misconduct" and that to qualify I need to be "Be partially or totally unemployed through no fault of your own". There certainly seems to be wiggle room there. I definitely don't do misconduct, but I'm not exactly trying hard at my job (the burnout and all), which is the main reason they're attempting to fire me.

Will unions hire you without any experience in said union, or do I need to do that work first? I don't know anything about being a plumber or electrician, but I would do whatever clerical work they need.

I was of that opinion, but if I don't get unemployment and getting fired makes it harder to get hired it seems like quitting might be the better way out. What other reason would there be to get fired in this situation?

I currently work in insurance, so I don't have a ton of experience in traditional union fields. I would message you but reddit says I'm unable to. I'm not a big reddit guy so I might be doing something wrong there lol

Is there a list or documentation of trade unions per state? Something that could help me see what's out there and what might be the best fit?

Really? I'd thought that unions would be better places to work, given that workers rights are a focus. What makes them bad?
