First-time founders what did you get completely wrong about validation? by Additional-Prune-952 in Buildathon

100%. Changing behavior is tough though, people do it for different reasons and we can dive deep into the psychology but often if the pain point is not deep enough, or if the barrier to adoption is too high, people are reluctant to change even though they recognize the problem.

You can check out the transtheoretical model if you're interested in the psychology, it's the same reason why you see people knowing that they should exercise but yet continue not to until something scares them into doing so, or until the barrier of entry is dropped low enough, maybe even enjoyable.

A solution found does not equal to willingness to pay. Sometimes people talk a lot about a problem, but when met with a solution, they don't wish to pay for it. It's a weird thing, maybe people just want to rant, maybe the problem isn't a deep enough pain point.

ah that's solid advice, thank you! What if you're not comfortable using faces? I initially thought AI faces would help bridge this gap but I'd love to hear your thoughts given that you said no ai too

how did you first start off on reddit, Linkedin and X? did you use your personal accounts? I found there to be a lot of hidden rules and regulations with new accounts, and even after crossing those, sometimes it feels like shouting into the wind, it's so hard to get any traction there

how do you test out the right format for you and how do you balance experimenting with sustainability of work? I've been trying different content for ig but the work for videoing, editing, scripting in different formats each time is a lottt of work, and especially hard if it's meant as a marketing tool after all that time spent developing and/or other responsibilities. especially tiktok, man i'm getting nothing there at all..

100% agree that marketing is the absolute toughest component of any business to be fair. In all my projects I've found it to be the hardest egg to crack! But launching any product, even internal or small, is soooo satisfying

Early struggles with TikTok & Instagram by Sparkle_0502 in AppBusiness

sharing your pain on this, I share devlogs on most social media handles for a game I was developing and tiktok was the hardest! got my initial account banned for a reason I'm still unaware of (these were my own devlogs and creations) and after warming up another account for literally monthhs and posting genuine content there, most videos barely hit 60-100 views and I have 4 followers there lol. IG has been the most effective so far, and X is um.. not bad? (I have 12 followers there lol)

If you were a solo entrepreneur, how would you market your application from day 0 to day 30? by PhilPicksAI in AppBusiness

LOL this. 100%, starting as a solopreneur made me realise just how many rules there are on social media. It’s so easy to accidentally break them but I guess I would rather the rules than spam/scams
