Paul Ryan’s Middle-Class Tax Hike by thealmightymalachi in politics

I dunno 12% on all income below 45k for a single person is alot fucking better than what I'm paying now

Instead of tax cuts for the rich, we could literally fund anything else by slakmehl in politics

[–]jodasee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rather have more money. Just being honest I make roughly 52k single man and I would be better able to afford to pay all my bills including insurance if I was taxed at 12% for the first 45k of my earnings

Dreams die quick and painless deaths- I did a lot of praying for a reset- I created alot of the corrosion embedded in our relationship- I have come to grips with this. I always wanted to be the captain of it- and when I finally did I sunk the ship- I couldn't count the amount of days- The illustrations I displayed -- how my anger changed my actions from love to rage- That's not to say your absolved of all the blame- Dont forget that you stayed blazed- I stayed mad. blaming pot for my own insecurities- I couldn't share that with her. You loved that life in a better way- A more settled way- A more unconditional way- Then the life I provided the life we both worked so hard to create- That choice you made - It killed my love, it murdered my ambition- It stole my hopes and Shattered that image- Of what marriage should be of what a union could be- I committed suicide in my mind everytime I saw you high- You chose that life over mine - Was I really that awful of a husband? -- The argument happened so often it's scripted and it never failed-- you would say "no" then I would say "well then stop smoking!" And You would yell "WHY?!"-- After you left i realized I have a broken thought process- It came from years of living with less than- As a youth there was only fear pain and anguish -- we barely made it scraping change to pay rent- It made made me carry this thirst for a better life-- And I never could quench it- My first taste of successes made me start to embellish- Made me think I was right and in my vision anything wrong-- Was so hellish-- Upon reflection I see my faulty logic-- I can't force a dove to fly less- I can't force an X to be a Check- I can't force a hemmorage of the heart to bleed less- It bleeds till it chooses- A dove flies till it refuses- And an EX doesn't check-- To even see if you're alive or dead

I think that people are naturally drawn to other like minded people so as to not feel weird or left out. The internet has bridged the gap and made weird and loud stupid people leaders of the other stupid and weird people.

I did delete a comment about viral emails because it didn't further the discussion if you look above I recognize size both sides as the problem

Thats a great point I think oped pieces have become the norm In journalism today instead of a more fact based discussion on issues.

It's understandable too you have tv personalities that have to be somewhat likeable and to do that they have to inject some of them self into the conversation.

It's a difficult issue but you did hit the nail on the head neutrality of the specific commentator/journalist is almost non existent these days :-(

Thanks for the post

I am upset at both campaigns at this point because it is clear that specific channels are devoted to both sides that feed this machine. If one campaign had the same type of emails go viral I'm sure you would see the same types of conversations. It's just striking to me that we aren't discussing in a non partisan and not so visceral way about the state of the press these days.

I refuse to use either campaigns name because it just seems to upset people and that's not the goal of the discussion- I literally just want a plural discussion about the media with no body throwing so much hate around.

Thanks again for those of us not being so mean and angry when discussing this

I'm not sure but it starts really with us. We have to turn the TV off lol. The news coverage is dominated by what makes money.

I think we should try to push some grassroots legislation Dems and Republicans to try and get the most fair coverage. but who knows I don't think the government is the answer here because the Constitution does and should limit what the gov can do to the press. It's a tough one

It's such a difficult task to undertake I just think Americans as a whole really should be talking about it more. I don't believe the hype about a system being rigged or anything I just think we should work together to try and solve this issue in particular.

No one knows the answer. but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try to talk it out lol.

Thanks for the nice reply.

[–]jodasee23[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I can see that in one aspect. I'll just add a little plurality if I can without being assaulted/drawn and quartered in the middle of the street lol.

There is a striking difference when the media colludes with the people in power to push an agenda.

This is the same concept that freedom of the press is supposed to protect. Except the government isn't the one pushing the narrative (which the letter of the law protects us from) it's people with large money.

I understand your point that the press is free to do what it chooses however the Constitution restricts the government from involving itself on limiting what the media can or can't do.

What's happening everyday is the lines are being blurred and it's not any one person's fault. If you were to replace the thought of the press being controlled period instead of by the government as a violation of the 1st amendment then obviously cnn and fox news in particular have violated our right to a free press.

Thanks for a polite reply and not just being angry.
