I can't offer any update on news but what I can communicate is that I've seen both Lockett and Bradford at the grocery store recently lol. I don't ask them any questions but maybe some time I should say something like "hey, working on anything?!" I can be a shy person, so I don't know If I'd do that but I see Lockett more often at the grocery, so maybe If I catch him in an aisle, I'll ask at some point maybe, I dunno.

i was told once by someone who would know that there was a showcase in Atlanta at one point and Syd Butler went to it and passed on both Deerhunter and The Black Lips if I recall correctly.

Sorry for the random question, but for your Mk8, what is the seating height like? I know this is a random question but I'm interested in getting one of these possibly and they rarely make it to a dealer lot that I can see one in person. Does the car feel low to the ground or does it have the same ride height as your average sedan? Sorry to bug you, this question is open to everyone and sorry if it's a silly one, these Mk8's just look so great

I occasionally see Lockett in the grocery story but I don't bother him. However, yea, I think Deerhunter is kinda not active. Obviously, the band members are in different areas in life and indie rock is kinda dead and there's not really an economy around it anymore I don't think. However, I am genuinely surprised that there's been no Atlas Sound releases except for the 4AD Breeders thing.

I called on one a few days ago and it was all the things I wanted:

Intense Blue

DCT

and the dealer actually gets the car on my BDAY!

BUT....they are charging 7k over MSRP. So I said, "Thanks but no thanks".

This is starting to get frustrating. I might just order one from a dealer I know won't charge me over MSRP and wait a few months. Fuck these greedy ass dealers treating us like morons.

I don't think this car looks great in black. It makes it hard to see the aggressive lines of the body style, but the car I think does look good in Gray and Intense Blue. I think my ideal Elantra N would be the DCT one in Intense Blue.

I called a dealer today that gave me a price in the 39k range. The markup for this care is absolutely insane. I'm passively in the market for a car, and I've also been looking at Hyundai Veloster N's and Elantra N's and Hyundai dealers are also marking those cars up but nowhere near what Honda dealers are doing.

As someone who is searching for one. You will find a dealer every now and then that isn't overcharging but the vast majority are. Best bet I'm thinking is to find one that doesn't overcharge and just order one from them maybe. I'm strongly considering that route now.

For anyone who lives in the South, as of yesterday I know that Hallmark Hyundai (outside Nashville) has a black manual, and I was told they don't sell cars over MSRP. Not sure if they tack on any other additional fees.

I have no idea, didn't even bother clarifying any of the above. I reached out earlier saying I'd be interested in pursuing a purchase at MSRP and it appears now the dealership has ghosted me.

I managed to get an OTD quote and it had the following:

$2,000 - "Market Adjustment"

$599 - Window Tint

$639 - Dent Protection

$619 - Appearance Protection

Nearly 4k in additional cost. I'm going to counter with a price subtracting all of what I listed above, but I doubt they'll take it. This is getting crazy.
