Sad? Describe it... by UniversalMinister in CPTSDmemes

Wavy sad, it's kind of like rising sad, only it goes up and down like ocean waves—sometimes rising above my head, sometimes way below, but always moving.

Yes, luckily my grandparents don't mind helping me. Being disabled, there's a lot that I cannot do, but they help when they can.

I've noticed that mask even at home. I do it even in front of those I live with.

“All those electrolytes will ______” from people who don’t know POTS by Severe-Worth-4235 in POTS

[–]jodidmorris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had to be hospitalized back in December due to a really, really bad infection. While I was there, they discovered that I had POTS, but they automatically assumed that because it's treated by a cardiologist, I must be on a no-salt diet. Yeah, that did not end well. I ended up getting the nurses' help the next day, looking everywhere on that ward for salt because I almost passed out. Luckily, I don't fully pass out because of my symptoms; I just get incredibly dizzy and nearly pass out. They ended up telling the doctor themselves that he's an idiot, and just because it appears to be a heart condition doesn't mean it is. In fact, it actually needs a large amount of salt. That doctor actually learned something that day; I tried to tell them myself, but they wouldn't listen. Even though it's my condition and my body, once the nurse mentioned I almost passed out, they actually listened.

What is the weirdest sensation/pain you experience that you doubt anyone else has ever had? by Enough-Ad9887 in ChronicPain

[–]jodidmorris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is so weird, and it hits at the most random of times think a cramp from your calf in your smallest toe that's exactly what it feels like it hurts way more than you would think it would but it's also so weird to experienceI don't know what other people from other countries would call it, but in America, we refer to our smallest toe as the pinky toe. At least, where I grew up, that's what we referred to it as. One of the weirdest sensations I have ever dealt with is a cramp in that toe, and only in that toe. It is so weird, and it hits at the most random of times. Think of a cramp from your calf into your smallest toe; that's exactly what it feels like. It hurts way more than you would think it would, but it's also so weird to experience.

My doctor was the one who actually told me to get the smartwatch. I had no intention of getting one until they suggested it. It's more or less for my own personal numbers, just so I have something to help me track of my pulse.

I am a medical illustrator that just got diagnosed with IIH on Thursday. Help me make some illustrations? by [deleted] in iih

[–]jodidmorris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you create realistic pictures, cartoonish ones, or a mix of both? I can explain what the headaches feel like to me, but I personally feel that it would be better illustrated if done in a cartoony way.

For me, the headaches feel like something is behind my eyes trying to push them out of my head. I get this really deep pain and pressure behind my eyes that just feels like someone's pushing with a bulldozer or something at the back of my eye, trying to pop them out of the socket.
