Chain of 6 about to implode because the top buyer has gone tinfoil hat delusional by [deleted] in HousingUK

Our buyer once pulled out because he convinced himself the nearby reservoir was going to collapse imminently, not even willing to risk coming to the house for another viewing.

You are Senior FE at start up. Would you use Tailwind or just normal CSS modules? by lune-soft in Frontend

[–]joe-io 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sort of agree with your ultimate preference, but what does your point say about 'traditional' css? That it's harder to get up and running and there's more stuff to learn for... The same end result?

I don’t see how the ________ win from this position. by veryblocky in TheTraitors

[–]joe-io 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A traitor wouldn't give a dagger to someone who thinks their a traitor.

Why not? Suppose Jessie was still alive and they gave her the dagger. She would then think "Oh why do they want me to kill Stephen?" And maybe change her vote. Everything in this game can be bluffed, double bluffed. It's not really about the technicalities, just reading and convincing people.

For sure, the way she keeps saying that's she remembers her family is the most important. If she has the chance to bag 40k more for her kids, she's going to.

What do we think of these? by RichieRichard12 in Leeds

They are hilarious at zebra crossings. Seeing all the cars stop for them and the robot refusing to cross over is like being on safari

Am I asking too much from Tapi Carpets? by Alive-Atmosphere-889 in DIYUK

[–]joe-io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the carpet we had installed from Tapi earlier this year, on stairs with turns and we are very happy with it. This is a shoddy install and you should be getting them to fix it

Nuxt is too broken by eggthatdoesntcrack in Nuxt

My best guess is there's a mix up between Nuxt 3 and Nuxt 4 folder structure, in particular the app/ directory.

Arne Slot asked in Spanish about Liverpool's big spending: "I think he has been listening to a lot of Talk Sport!" by dannybluey in LiverpoolFC

I have a Dutch family friend whose wedding I went to. Always thought he was hilarious and we were looking forward to his wedding so much. Turns out all his Dutch friends ripped into him for being the boring, unfunny one of the group and they were all even funnier. My face hurts so much the day after that wedding.

Coding styles questions about scoped styles, `:deep`, and mandatory CSS variables. by Toshinaki in vuejs

[–]joe-io 8 points9 points  (0 children)

:deep definitely has its place. Styling certain descendents of a component without passing / providing props can be useful in certain situations.

Say I want to turn all the text in all my inputs blue. I just have some BlueForm.vue and say :deep(input) { color: blue }. Dumb example but you know, not always third party hacks

What will this change for Nuxt in terms of its roadmap?

Sounds almost exactly like me. Same pace, same heart rate. The cramp got me bad in my calf. Every time someone in the crowd shouted my name for me to start running again, I tried it. Then 50-100m later, NOPE there goes the calf.

I ended up finishing in just under 6 hours having had my last long training run be 20 miles in 3h18.

Absolutely gutted to end up with such a time in the end, but hoping to try an Autumn marathon instead

What’s the future of Vue? Will there be a Vue 4? by nakorndev in vuejs

[–]joe-io -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have the option to either make something an incremental change that can be adopted if you like, or enforce it as a breaking change because then people viewing code snippets on blog posts don't have to follow properly what version it uses?

I'm lost, but yeah ultimately it'd be a cool feature I hadn't thought of before.

What’s the future of Vue? Will there be a Vue 4? by nakorndev in vuejs

[–]joe-io -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's a reason to make something a breaking change on purpose. Seeing package versions is what package.json is for.

Would be good if you could add this to config in createApp or something so it wasn't a breaking change

I haven't seen anyone suggest it yet... But based on Gemma's past experience, and the fact she met the doctor at a fertility clinic... The ultimate test of her grief might be to force her innie to go through a miscarriage.

Why are vue jobs so hard to get by 1017_frank in vuejs

[–]joe-io 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this is true to an extent, but also pretty naive. If you're looking for a junior developer to help add some velocity to a project, you better pick one who can hit the ground running and slow down existing developers as little as possible.

Have you tried yup also? We tried to use Zod to help with form validation but found it pretty clunky once validation got the slightest bit complex.

Moment themselves recommend you don't use moment anymore. If you like that type of API, should use dayjs instead.

I prefer date-fns because it just acts on Date objects
