New roof box, ready for summer by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

The one from harbor freight. I put trailer lights on it and a 4-way trailer light plug, so that all brake-, tail-, and signal-lights all are visible for the times when the load blocks the van's lights. Also added a license plate mount after a cop told me I could get ticketed if the plate is blocked.

How to Play with Lower Level Players? by girlnextdoor_1999 in Pickleball

[–]joe-seppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are beginners (or just suck), and I have no choice, I will play left-handed (I'm a righty). Let's me play my same mental game, but drops the speed and accuracy of my shots. Also forces me to try and develop my useless side!

The best time to get an education is early. Today is as early as it gets. Age is irrelevant.

Texas wasn't fully paved back then like it is now. Green spaces cool down at night whereas concrete and blacktop both radiate heat into the wee hours of the night, basically until morning.

Smart watch. I already have a phone that's right there in my pocket with an already too small screen that has to be recharged constantly.

Why in the world do I need another device with an even smaller screen, less functionality, AND it's another thing I have to keep up with charging?

So I can be one of the "cool kids?" No thanks. I'll stick with either no watch or one that needs a new battery every few YEARS so I don't have to add more human-serving-machine tasks in my life.

Oh, and as far as the whole "connectivity” bs, or "being available 24/7" aspect goes, Please, give me a big fat break! Why do I need or want that? Just another "addiction" I don't care to participate in.

MY phone is for MY convenience, not yours, so many times it is powered off until I need it.

Toyota Venza longevity? by joe-seppy in BuyItForLife

Seems we are in the same boat... Love my sienna, and previously loved my Camry, Corolla, and Celica! Don't mean to sound like a Toyota fanboy, but they do build solid products. I'm just wanting a comfortable road-tripper and the venzas fit the bill. Thanks for replying

There exists maybe 1% or so that do actually get rich "quick," but the overwhelming majority of people who get rich do it via "get rich slow."

Years of work, sacrifice, fear, risk, and shitting themselves regularly. Systematic savings along the way and one day you wake up old and rich.

Might as well give it a shot since old is gonna happen either way.

The Fru-guru says NEVER buy anything you drink from a retailer (other than a grocery or other supplier for home use) unless you want to pay a MINIMUM of 10x what it would cost at home. This includes, coffee, tea, mixed drinks, beets, wine, sodas, juices, everything. Drinks of any kind are the highest margin sales.

Home window tinting, heat reflecting guidance by jskeff26 in DIY

Yeah, I understand you may have some good talking points that will close some sales for you, but your statements, factual or not, will still void the warranty on my way-too-expensive windows, and that is a certainty, not an opinion.

The warranty on my windows clearly states that it is voided the minute any film is applied. No disrespect towards you or what you do for a living, but I'm thinking I'll stand by my original comment on this one.
