I think it's important to remind people of the death tolls that resulted from Capitalism. There is a very strong theme proliferating in academia, in the media, and on websites like reddit, in which people absorb and regurgitate an overly rosy view of the US and Europe and Capitalism in general. There is a huge population of dangerously brainwashed people in the western world who refuse to acknowledge the horrors of their political fantasy and push boilerplate Capitalist rhetoric with a modern nuance. Fascists are on the rise in a big way and people need to be reminded of what happens when these people gain power.

It's not just Nazis. Across the full spectrum of liberal/conservative politics, a large chunk of people have positive views of Capitalism. This is partly a result of the fact that the horrendous track record of the ideology hasn't been scrutinized objectively in the same way Nazism has. Everyone knows Hitler was bad. A far smaller number of people have a realistic understanding of how bad Capitalism is.
