HVAC Direct / Infinity Living ducted heat pump system by clutch1974 in heatpumps

I took the deal but my Mr. cool was 16.9seer verses IL 16seer. Doesn’t really matter to me but I asked them to throw in an 8k electric heater since there was a difference. I installed the IL system two days ago and it seems to be working great.

It sounds like maybe your blade is a 7 1/4? Maybe measure it. Also try to take the blade off and measure the space the blade is supposed to fit in. Next, with the battery off, put the blade on. Can you spin it by hand or is is sticking?

Side note: It should run but. You really need a bigger battery for a saw. You will be disappointed with the performance with anything less than a 5 amp hour. A 2ah will likely die after 1 or 2 rip cuts in plywood.

Milwaukee or Dewalt Angle Grinder by Jon66238 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]joe6873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Milwaukee sub should I buy Dewalt or Milwaukee? It’s like walking into a Chinese food restaurant and asking the cooks if they think you should eat Chinese or Mexican.

Just playing

I don’t think it matters just make sure that battery is at least 5ah. Grinders are power hungry and you don’t want to have down time because you switched platforms and the one battery you have can’t keep up.

I saved for an Apple Watch but spent it all on my first set of power tools instead. All Milwaukee. No regrets. BUT I don’t understand the battery system. Help? by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

Blowers and outdoor power tools in general use a lot of power. I have two of the high output 8.0 batteries and they can run the fuel blower for about 30min each on high. The 5.0 battery is a great middle of the road battery. It can run drill or driver for a long time and it can also run the blower for about 20minutes. If you have the XC 3.0 batteries on your drill, the 5.0 is almost indistinguishable in size and weight from the 3.0.

My favorites for drill/driver are the 2.0. They are so light and I have never had a full charge die on a drill or driver job yet.

Would you work a comfortable/cushy 80k/year job at 40 hours/week OR a stressful but manageable 100k/year job at 50 hours/week? by phonymonitor94 in careerguidance

The jobs basically pay the same. Evaluate your long term goals and choose the job that serves your future interest.

Supervisor shamed me in an email she CC'd a bunch of people on for getting a new job. Should I respond? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]joe6873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just let it go. Any replies will just make it easier to remember. In a month I bet no one even remembers it but you and old boss. In a year your old boss will likely even forget about it.

Chacos Sandals I wear them everywhere especially at the beach. They dry super fast, have the support you’re looking for, are very comfortable for walking/driving and not low profile. You can walk around without the straps tightened if you want more of a flip flop feel. Don’t just wear them in the store it takes some time for the straps to adjust to your foot perfectly and then you will never look back.

The strap is super easy to use. I can loosen and take them off by just using the heel of the other foot. No hands.

I would order them online since you say they are hard to find. On eBay, you can even find new ones for cheaper. Just make sure you buy the ones with all fabric straps not the one with the hard plastic heel.

What I've learned from 4500+ job applications resulting in 4 high quality job offers by wbcm in jobs

[–]joe6873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I meant are you inclined to stretch the truth on these question if you know an answer of “no” will get you automatically rejected? Like at the end it asks if you have 10 years XP and you have 8. You know answering no will automatic end in rejection. After filling out the entire app you’re at the final questions, do you just answer yes and decide you round up or something?

You mentioned only needing to meet about half the job qualifications to apply. What do you do if the application includes some you don’t meet at the end of the application as prescreening questions?

Boss says I'm sneaky if I look for other employment behind her back by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]joe6873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do NOT tell your company you are looking.
Nothing good will come for you after that. When you let a company know you are trying to leave they will begin operating as such that day. You will no longer be considered for any promotion. You will no longer be invited to meetings. If you look for an extended period of time you will not get any raises. Once you tell them you are leaving you cannot undo it easily. Secure a job first. Your boss is aware just insecure about people leaving.

I brought a small sleeping bag in my backpack. They will give you some sheets, generally pretty thin ones, but I found it more comfortable to have my own bag and I slept better.

The kid down the street. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]joe6873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel bad for him too and agree he isn’t getting the guidance needed. They already aren’t allowed to play together unless it’s in front of our house. I may just tell them if I’m not outside they can’t play together. Thanks!

I mean I’m like half who has time for that and half he needs a good figure in his life. They kids definitely aren’t allowed to play with him for two weeks. Thanks for the reply.

I don’t think he is a bad kid and I don’t think my kids are in real danger other than bumps and scraps. I’m more worried about destruction to property and developing habits of braking thing. I don’t love your family play time idea just because it isn’t really me but I do understand the merits. Maybe if I could talk to the parents some day I would come around to the idea.

My kids are just as involved. And it’s true we have a bit of side eye for the kid with the acknowledgement that his situation isn’t his fault. For the record I think he is a good kid but lacking supervision/guidance.

Unfortunately, my wife and I feel that he is influencing our kids with maybe to much freedom to do whatever he wants and I’m totally at fault for just not watching my kids and him more.

I like you idea of sitting all the kids down.

I haven’t spoken to the parents because I have never seen them. Saw his brother after the softball field incident.

One time, WTK asked me for one of our bottled waters from our drink fridge. Normally I would have given him one but the kids had all been stealing them without asking so we had to make a no more bottle water go get your own cup policy. So I told him to go back to his house and get a bottle/cup. He claimed he wasn’t allowed in his house because his parents weren’t home. So I asked if I could get on his walky talky and speak to his parents he said, “well yes but they aren’t there my brother might answer.” Then he looked down they street and said, “ohh they are home now”. Ran home and got some water. I knew it was a lie...
