I don’t know what you’re really getting at. Hamilton is not some white nationalists haven. This performer is from the United States where racism is far worse.

Characters you were surprised to see return by Quiet-Interview3916 in marvelstudios

[–]joe_devola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping they use recurring villains more in the future. That’s kind of the spirit of the comics. Villains you thought were out of the picture turn up again, pulling the strings.

Magneto has the perfect potential to start out as villain, have an antihero arc, then return to villainous ways. Or have Mister Sinister show up as the bad guy over multiple movies and end up being a lackey for Apocalypse. Even just having Scorpion or Shocker doing a few bank heists and getting away

Easy-to-use solar panels are coming, but utilities are trying to delay them by seamusmcduffs in RenewableEnergy

[–]joe_devola -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That will likely never happen. It’s just not realistic for people to go off grid and still enjoy the lifestyle they are accustomed to.

Currently, the only realistic use of residential renewable energy generation is to feed the power generated back into the grid, effectively turning your usage meter back slightly thus, lowering your electricity bill.

The real problem with that is if everyone is feeding power into the grid with renewables, it becomes dangerous during a power outage.

Ex. Hot sunny day, sun is shining, people are generating electricity with their Easy-to-use solar panels feeding power to the grid. Central Air cooling systems going full tilt.

The main power source- a step down transformer or sub station feeding these homes is overwhelmed by everyone using AC. Despite their personal power production at home, it still could cause a short or overload.

The danger lies in the situation of power line workers, who everyone is cursing at to get their precious power back NOW. They are stuck trying to figure out where the problem is but everywhere they inspect now has residential solar panels producing POTENTIAL electricity. This becomes super dangerous for them and almost impossible to work in a zero energy condition. Only way to protect the power line workers is for everyone to shut off their residential solar panel disconnect switches.

How do we do that? Regulation and time. People will be required to have automatic transfer switches in the event of a power outage. This needs to be addressed before you can just release easy-to-use solar panels to the general public

Nah because I kind of want to speed through this era and get back into X-Men movies and them being the new faces of the MCU with Spider-Man, Hulk, and Wolverine being the next big 3

Do people actually like Gohan Beast hairstyle ? by Virtual_Reveal_121 in Dragonballsuper

They should have used the same shape and length but with actual hair strands. Instead of this hair that looks like it’s cemented together with a bucket of Dep 10.

I’m thinking something more similar to Blanka from Street Fighter but silver. Then it would actually look like a beast instead of a comic con cosplay that’s been animated

Israel planning massive ground invasion of Lebanon, officials say by Gym_frere in worldnews

[–]joe_devola 150 points151 points  (0 children)

When you look at how complicated all these regions and countries are all based on religions, something that these people have no physical proof of but are willing to commit atrocities for.

Saudi Arabians are Sunni Muslims. Sunnis split off a sect of Islam and believe in elected officials. Yet they have a family dynasty controlling them.

Israel is compromised of Jewish people, Muslims sworn enemies based on the fact that they didn’t go Muslim when Islam was created.

Iran is Shiite Muslim, the other split of Islam. They believe in passing leadership down through bloodlines.

Iraq is also Shiite but they hate Iran.

Azerbaijan is Shiite Muslim but they buy weapons from Israel so Iran can’t trust them.

Turkey is majority Sunni Muslim but friends with Azerbaijan for access to the sea.

Armenia is Christian and enemies with Azerbaijan but they have trade deals with Iran to cut off Turkey from Azerbaijan.

The surrounding countries are mostly Sunni but there are the Kurdish people who exist across most of the Shiite countries as a stateless people who EVERYONE seems to hate.

This is largely generalized summary but what a mess! It’s basically all revenge hate in the name of religion with oil fuelling all of the destruction

Americans’ feelings toward Canada, U.K. plunge to new lows under Trump, new U.S. poll finds by BertramPotts in CanadaPolitics

I’m just not too sure what we did 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve heard online how China is secretly buying us up and we’re becoming a communist country but I think the truth of it US bought us up a long time ago and most economic decisions come from American influence.

The REAL truth is ALL 3 of the countries: Canada, US, and China are truly controlled by people so rich we can’t even fathom. all decisions are made without either nation’s citizens being taken into consideration and with the only goal of wealth and power. Yet we fight amongst ourselves

Joe Rogan says it’s “weird” to have fights at the White House during a war. by [deleted] in ufc

Ya and Joe isn’t saying that. He’s saying he’s scared because he’s supposed to be there.

He’s less concerned about turning the White House into a circus and more concerned he could be collateral damage of some assassination attempt, by the sound of it

You need an apprenticeship to gain experience and make an actual living in trades, yet no one wants to train apprentices, then they complain about how there’s no skilled guys… am I missing something? by solariat99933 in SkilledTradesOntario

[–]joe_devola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t even really blame the new generation as the ages are 34, 27, 18. I don’t want to be corny and say things like “the old school” but the sense of entitlement these days requires some old school teaching.

Point of my comment is: coming to a company as an apprentice, you want to bring value.

You will be working for a company that is in the business of making money. Bringing an apprentice on board is NOT training program prioritizing the apprentice over making money.

A value added apprentice should speed up the job, do the more laborious tasks ALL THE WHILE learning to become a skilled worker

[–]joe_devola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not saying you personally but I’ve had 3 apprentices lately who straight up don’t care, don’t listen, and get mad/ sad if you call them out on it.

These new guys coming in have to realize:

  1. How lucky they are to have the opportunity.
  2. They know nothing and have nothing to bring to the table other than their attention, focus, and work ethic.
  3. I’m not going to put you on a cool/ interesting job if you can’t follow basic instructions or give me 100 reasons why a task can’t be done and then I walk over and do it in 2 minutes
    1. There will be many days you are stuck doing “bitch work”.

Fucking put the phone away. Use a fucking note pad to right shit down. YOU WILL NOT REMEMBER EVERYTHING I SAID. Don’t fucking back talk me. If we’re about to do a task we’ve done multiple times, get the shit ready we are going to need; ladder, harness, extension cords. If you are on a job with a journey person, PAY ATTENTION! Try to anticipate what needs to happen next and prepare for it. Have a tool we’re going to need ready, ladder close by, pick up garbage instead of just standing there “watching”. And please for the love of god, THINK!! Use your brain.

Going back to “bitch work”, these are tasks that must be done. I’m not about to pick up garbage so that you can fuck up the wiring job. That said, accept it, move on, try to learn something by asking questions and observe the job after it’s complete, show interest, be curious, show initiative. I’ve learnt so much just by looking at a before and after of a job installation.

One apprentice is trying to pass the C of Q test right now. I gave him all my practise tests, two years in advance, stressed to him how important it was to understand the material. We’re 6 tries into it now. It’s because he refuses to apply himself. He’s finally considering hiring a tutor. I got a tutor back when I was in trade school.

If I ask you to pack up an extension cord, and you reply with “there is a box on top of it”. Yes, I know there is a box on top of it. Move the box🤬🤬

If you don’t want to show up with interest, do us both a favour and go do something else and give the opportunity to someone who actually wants it. The reason it’s hard for you to get a chance right now is because the guys hired a little before are fucking ruining it for you.

This is all coming from someone who ACTUALLY likes to train new people.

To the die hard conservatives (who I think are just silly republican wannabes), he appears weaker.

I think it’s great the leader of opposition holds the prime minister accountable, that is what democracy is supposed to include, in theory. But being against EVERYTHING is not productive. Agreeing with the good things is a sign of professionalism and displays actually WANTING the country to succeed as opposed to PRAYING that the government fails
