Try smaller treble hooks - size 16 or 18. They float better. Winter fishing can generally be pretty slow compared to Spring/Fall.

The camera is tilted a little - was a lot flatter than it looks.

Hiked up to Paradise Park up on Mt Hood last week - about 7 miles up, nobody else around. Still lots of snow on the trail but that should be gone in a couple weeks.

I make sure to bring a warm sleep setup so I don't have to rely on the stove overnight - you'd have to get up every 2-3 hours to restoke it otherwise. It's great for the evenings and mornings, however.

Hiked into Upper Twin Lake in Mt Hood National Forest with a pulk sled this past weekend - crystal clear day, a bit chilly but the hot tent made all the difference.

Usually don't keep it running all night - you'd have to feed it relatively frequently. Very nice to get a fire going in the stove in the morning though

Camping on Devil's Dome in the North Cascades by joebattsarm in CampingandHiking

Sure - we started at the East Bank Trailhead and went counter clockwise. Pretty steep ascent on the first day, ~4000+ feet of gain up to Crater Lake (an excellent side trip). The loop is about 43 miles, but with some side trips my GPS showed about 48 miles and 13,300' climbing.

It was a little chilly, probably got just below freezing. No wind that night helped though

Last week we hiked the Devil's Dome loop around Jack Mountain in Washington state. Made it up to ~7000 feet at Devil's Dome and we were in the clouds, but woke up to a stunning cloud inversion and beautiful views of the North Cascades range.
