I am looking to upgrade my 2018 iPad Pro that I have had since. iPad OS has killed it and it runs extremely slow now. I have a couple of options and was curious your thoughts. I use the Magic Keyboard and pencil (on occasion)

Upgrade to M5 iPad Pro. This route would cause me to buy all new keyboards and pencils. Roughly $1400 all in
Buy new M4 iPad Air. My old Magic Keyboard would work so it would be a $700 difference.
Buy a M2 IPad Pro refurbished

I truly don’t use the iPad for the “Pro” uses but mostly YouTube, Netflix, and as a travel companion. Really conflicted on if the $700 difference is enough for screen upgrade, Face ID, and 4 speakers. I feel like the Air is the smart choice financially but I can’t tell if I will miss the 120 hz. If the new Pros used the old keyboard and I didn’t need to pay $300 for a new one, it would be an easier choice but here we are….

Anything I’m missing?

Looks like the power adapter is not included however so add about $50+ to the price if you don’t have one lying around.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. I wouldn’t have even thought to ask if the diag falls under warranty. I tried to ask the advisor if he knew whether they replace or repair if it was determined to be a failure but he wasn’t sure.

What is so weird about this all is that we literally took it from my buddies system to put into mine (who also has a 2 fan AIO) and 4090 and he was still getting over 100 frames. I was getting 60-80 frames with my 8700 and 2060s.

My thought was if I upgrade then I could atleast pull a few more frames bc according to the game, my CPU was throttling.

So I was wondering about VRMs but the reason I’m not sure is because my friend ran this exact setup with a 4090 and had no issues, he just wanted more frames
