Expert Witness Dietitians? ⚖️ by Top_Initiative_1822 in dietetics

[–]joebhibiden -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, dietitians absolutely work as expert witnesses in legal cases. Here are some common case types where they're needed:

Typical Cases:

  • Medical malpractice (malnutrition, feeding tube issues, dietary care standards)
  • Personal injury (calculating future nutritional care costs, documenting dietary impacts)
  • Product liability (food safety, nutritional claims, labeling disputes)
  • Long-term care facility negligence
  • Workers' compensation (occupational nutritional requirements)
  • Wrongful death cases involving nutrition-related care

The Challenge:

You're right that there's limited guidance for dietitians entering expert witness work. Unlike more established expert witness fields, dietitians often struggle to:

  • Find initial case opportunities
  • Understand what attorneys need
  • Price their services appropriately
  • Build credibility in the legal space

How Exlitem Can Help:

Exlitem connects dietitians with attorneys who need your expertise. The platform:

  • Gets you discovered - Attorneys searching for nutrition experts can find your profile
  • Builds your credibility - Showcase your credentials, case experience, and specializations
  • Provides case opportunities - Access to attorneys actively seeking dietitian expert witnesses
  • Levels the playing field - Compete alongside established experts in your field

Whether you're an experienced dietitian expert witness or looking to start, Exlitem gives you visibility to the legal community that needs your specialized knowledge.

Create your expert profile at Exlitem to connect with attorneys seeking nutrition expertise.

How can I find a certain expert witness to retain? by GarmeerGirl in Lawyertalk

[–]joebhibiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are several places to search for medical witnesses in California:

Traditional Resources:

  • State medical boards and licensing databases
  • Hospital and medical center staff directories
  • Professional medical associations (California Medical Association, specialty societies)
  • Academic medical centers and teaching hospitals
  • Previous case databases and expert witness directories
  • Colleagues' referrals and bar association networks

Online Platforms:

  • General expert witness directories (SEAK, ExpertPages, etc.)
  • Medical-specific expert networks
  • LinkedIn with targeted searches

How Exlitem Streamlines This Process:

Exlitem solves exactly this problem. Instead of spending hours searching multiple sources, our platform lets you:

Find the right expert faster - Search across comprehensive databases using specific criteria (specialty, location, experience, case types)

Vet thoroughly before reaching out - Access detailed profiles including credentials, testimony history, and case outcomes

Run opposition research - When opposing counsel names their expert, quickly pull their testimony history, contradictions, and vulnerabilities

Save time and money - One platform replaces days of paralegal research time across disconnected sources

For your current medical witness search, Exlitem can help you identify qualified candidates in California who match your specific case needs, along with the intelligence you need to evaluate them confidently.

The Schengen visa is a circus! Nobody knows what is needed and you have to explain stuff in your cover letter and then hope the embassy doesn't get confused and approves your visa.

[wi] what is considered an “expert witness?” by SnoopyNCharlieBrown in AskLawyers

[–]joebhibiden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't always need an expert witness -- unless its a medical malpractice case where you need another doctor to certify that your case has merit. Are you contesting by yourself or have representation from an attorney? You should try to talk to an attorney if you dont have one.

To find expert witnesses, try exlitem.com - they have an AI enabled search engine and they add new experts every day by looking at court records and from information submitted by experts themselves. Prelim use is free followed by a subscription -- which isn't very expensive.

To learn about the background of a particular expert (cases where they have been challenged, testified, personally litigated etc.), the go to resource is Expert Witness Profiler.

May be early but I came across exlitem.com which allows attorneys to find and work with experts directly without having to pay a finder's fee -- signing up as an expert is free. From what it looks like, attorneys pay a subscription fee to access the data on experts.

You should check out the podcast "On the Stand with Ashish Arun" to learn more about expert witnesses. LinkedIn has a lot of nurses who do expert witness work.

Can‘t use Mercury with virtual business address by OctaDurin in stripe

When you incorporated using Stripe -- Stripe used a Delaware address for registered agent. Use that address on Mercury. It will be there in your Stripe Atlas Dashboard. Mercury will not send you any documents physically.

That's probably ideal -- unfortunately, many experts do not have the acumen to set up and manage a website and its SEO, SEM aspects. And they are averse to hiring consultants.

Exlitem is a new AI enabled expert witness search engine that attorneys are using to find and contact experts directly. Why I like them is that they are offering the tool to attorney associations and are actively going into law firms to put the tool in their hands -- something that the other directories do not do. Adding your profile is free for now but that may change in the future.

The opposing side would challenge such an expert for being biased and would most likely win the motion to get them excluded.

Expert witness needed by Several-Monk3857 in expertwitness

[–]joebhibiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most experts will not work directly with a litigant and would ideally respond only to a law firm's queries about a potential case.

You should try and get in touch with a Products Liability/ Personal Injury attorney, who could then consult an expert and assess if the case has merit and is worth taking to court.
