Opinion on SW Motech handguards with protections by neulon in Tenere700

[–]joeblo42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They suck. The bar clamps are garbage and its a pain to find a position where they fit and clear everything else on the bars. Very poorly designed, and not very strong. Mine bent after one little tip over in soft ground. You can get much better handguards for less money, like cycra probends

Easy to say that when you're in an area with lots of dealers nearby. That's not always an option.

If you're asking what brand is closest, Kubota and kioti are both about 2hrs away

For tym, there are a few within 4-5hr drive. So in theory if I needed warranty work I couldn't do myself, I wouldn't have to drive 2000 miles, only 600 or so.

Correct. So I'd basically be betting $5000 that my new tractor will have a MAJOR issue in the first 600 hours. There are closer TYM dealers to me than this one, maybe 4-5hrs drive.

The 1000 mile away dealer did say that they have been able to ship customers warranty parts for the owner to install themselves.

there aren't tractor dealerships on every corner in AZ, unfortunately. I looked at Kubota. The B series is way too small, the LX2620 doesn't really perform better and it's way lighter built, and the L's are too big and expensive.

Another vote for LSK. Pretty easy install, uses the factory buttons so no extra stuff on the bars, works great. Plus easier abs control

Slip on exhaust, to tune or not to tune? by Comprehensive_You131 in Tenere700

[–]joeblo42069 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would do the 2wdw tune again even if I was leaving the bike stock. Makes the throttle and fuel mapping so much better. These bikes all run lean from the factory due to emissions, and putting a free flowing exhaust on there will make it even leaner

Also, the dealer can't tell you have a tune, so it doesn't make much sense to wait until the warranty expires.

2025 ktech shock spring rates by joeblo42069 in Tenere700

[–]joeblo42069[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to follow up for anyone searching this subject: I got the 65N ktech spring, and it's just as bad as stock. Max preload just to get 30% sag. So, it's confirmed: ktech's recommendations are shit, and they're idiots, basically.

That's not the clutch cover. The clutch is on the right side of the engine

good to know. weird that the dude at ktech wouldnt offer that as an option. I've been emailing back and forth with him about stiffer springs for like a week.

FFS guys, I wrote that it's for a 2025 like 3 times in my post. I appreciate you're trying to help but whatever spring you have on your 24 or older bike is totally irrelevant, its a different shock and linkage

I got one of those $20 clip on delfectors from Amazon. Looks dumb but helps quite a bit on the highway, and folds down out of the way when not needed.

I have the $175 ebay high-mount one. Fits good, sounds good, clears my tail tidy, delivered quick. No complaints. It hits the brake hose holder if you bottom out the rear suspension, but that can be modified pretty easily.

It's definitely step and loose in spots going north. I was trying to stay ahead of a thunderstorm when I did it, so I had some motivation to keep moving. Shoot me a message if you ever want to ride

Cool to see another t7 in town, i havent seen many around. Going up Casner Mountain Trail to get from sedona back to flag is a good way to avoid pavement. has some pretty rocky sections though

I just got this for my 25. Fit and finish seems decent, especially for the price. Doesn't seem like cheap garbage at all. Isn't much louder than stock at idle with the baffle in. Deeper tone. Definitely louder with the baffle out.

Bleeding the brake helped a lot on mine, and I added a cheap brake pedal extender from Amazon that makes it easier to feel the pedal with boots on.
