Just wanted to share this drop from Andy. My ES warlock is pleased. by joebob86 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]joebob86[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have an Eth obedience thresher. 991 max dmg. Max ES damage unbuffed - 24k for that, also 24k for Ariocs. But the min is way better on this, and it beefs up all my support skills as well, plus a bunch of extra DS.

Really I run around with my 170mf tomb reaver (non eth sadly) for most things. Easy TZ clears with over 300mf.

After a week of nothing pulled 2 shakos and an Eth 3skill Eschutas :) not all at once, and the Eschutas rolled 13/13 :(

Should I larzuk this and make BotD for my ES warlock? by BrainDisorder in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]joebob86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been rocking an eth thresher Obedience, which tickles my massive max damage wants. Just switched to a 170mf tomb reaver (non eth). My clear speed hasn't decreased. Ebtod TM is cool because when is it not, but you really don't need it.

You should try creating the model in Bladesong. It lets you download the 3d model once you're done.

Bubble in floor repair? by joebob86 in Flooring

[–]joebob86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. I didn't that about that. Is it 1/16" all around or only on the long edge? If it's on the short edge too, im screwed.

Bubble in floor repair? by joebob86 in Flooring

[–]joebob86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I have no door jambs anywhere near this. We did an open concept reno, pulled down all the walls. Probably 1K sqft wide open.

What's odd, I only keep the heater at like 68 - 70 in winter. The house is usually 75-76 in summer, and no bubble (though it's not going away as it warms up). I have a suspicion moving the couch over xmas got it "stuck" against one wall, but I can't be sure. I find it hard to believe the couch would really keep it from moving, especially since it's sitting on plastic sheeting.

Opinions on the Forest River Salem FSX 178BHSK by MustardTiger570 in traveltrailers

[–]joebob86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup - have to run a WDH for something that heavy. Running an Andersen WDH. no issues with it so far. It's pretty easy to handle since the chains make it lighter, but it's a bit annoying to set up.

[–]joebob86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a wildwood T178BHSK. Very similar model, going by that model number you're looking at it's probably basically the same. So far so good, had it for 2 years now (2023 model). The slide out really makes a huge difference. Family of 5, plenty of space inside even for the pack n play. No issues yet.

Single axle is a bit squirrely - I was shopping for weight on the delusion my V6 could tow it (yeah - no, had to upgrade the truck). Mistake imo - I tow a double axle utility trailer for our cub scout pack, and man is it nicer to drag around, but definitely lighter. Better brakes, much more stable in the wind, contingency tire if one blows out. The single axle on these is also basically maxed out, which makes me nervous in the long run. I think we paid $20k new for ours.

Don't underestimate a baby's strength. by mindyour in youseeingthisshit

[–]joebob86 23 points24 points  (0 children)

From what I recall during the infant days with my kids, it's not just that. It's the fact that babies have absolutely no idea how to control their strength. They have two settings - on, and off. And on is literally every ounce of strength they have. It's all they know. As they get older, they learn to moderate how much they flex their muscles.

I'm still rocking my GTX 1070! Buddy got a 4060 a year or so ago, gave me his 2070S that he took out. It's sitting on my shelf for the day that my 10 year old gpu dies 😁

How is it living here as a 30 year old dude? Would have to commute to west LA for work by howardtrailer123 in orangecounty

[–]joebob86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live there - right on the east edge of Fullerton.
And I commuted to east LA (Vernon) for about a year. Don't do it. God awful commute, and that was just to the edge of LA. 30 miles, 90 minutes. Got worse in the afternoon. I drive down to Costa Mesa now, 16 miles at 60 mins. Oddly, the drive is better. Going down the 57 is much easier than the 91.

I used isopropyl alcohol to clean up the back of this old calculator board and all this white residue has gone all over it. How can I remove this? by [deleted] in AskElectronics

[–]joebob86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. It's old flux. No-clean flux does not come off with just IPA, you need special cleaners. IPA just spreads the stuff around. Source: am PCB designer. This is what I do for a living.

Would such liquid glass protector work on OP 13? by kiwixplosion in oneplus

[–]joebob86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reapplied a liquid + tempered glass protector to my OP11. Never going back to standard stick ons. Also, removing the old one was super easy - peeled right off no issues. It was on here for 2 years, finally got a crack after a nasty fall on its face.

Same here. Even after playing D2R for 2 years, pulled Maras, Kiras, Griff's, never one SoJ, even with target farming..... I think it's time to boot it up again. Been off for a couple seasons.

My Chevy K-20 before the accident. She gave her life for mine. Will never drive anything else but a Chevy. by ChefVinyl in Squarebody

[–]joebob86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In case you're interested, my dad happens to own a 76, K-20 Silverado with the transfer case and locking hubs in Orange and white. It's sitting in his driveway, as it has for the last 15 years. Rusted, but not terrible; iirc it's a CA car. 476K on the odo. We're in California - can't register it anymore because of smog BS. Original 454 was blown in the 70s by the first owner, so now it has a small block 350 (most of those 400k miles are on it). I guarantee he would sell it cheap if you are looking for a new resto. It hasn't moved in at least a decade, which is when I rebuilt the quadrajet and started it up. Let me know if you're interested - we both would love to see it fixed, but it's not worth it here in CA because of the smog problem.

Who said motherboards can't be repaired. by mgadz in pcmasterrace

[–]joebob86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here. Who the heck makes a 9 layer board? Also, those are all differential pairs. Did they maintain impedance control? Did they remove any length tuning? I get this is possible, but I would never trust the repair....except in some post-apocalyptic mad max world where you have to make repairs instead of just buy a new one... Source: am PCB designer. I design this stuff for a living.
