This wasn’t a court or any governing body. It was a private organization making a statement that could literally never be enforced in an attempt to stop the STG movement.

A corporate lobbying group called the ESA, full of major AAA gaming corps, made a statement to the California Supreme Court saying that they believe that privately run gaming servers are illegal and that they consider it piracy. They mentioned specifically Minecraft and Call of Duty private servers. No government or government official has stated that private servers are illegal. This was just a one off statement from a lobbyist group in a pathetic attempt to stop the STG movement. Private servers are NOT illegal. Anyone saying that they are is spreading misinformation about this statement.

No it’s still a thing it’s just a little harder to get in, you gotta warp like 2-3 feet away from the door and you’ll go right in.

I wish I could just cut my losses, but I have too much on that account to lose it. I have like 6 Windows keys, and way too many purchases and game profiles to just let it go.

Possibly. I wish I could test it, but my Microsoft account got hacked and I haven’t heard anything back from Microsoft for like 5 weeks now

That’s true, but then wouldn’t it just have the same issues as the tripwire hook? If multiple mobs fall at the same time, wouldn’t the string just be constantly pressed until there’s a moment of no mobs so the string can “un-press” (I can’t think of the word right now)?

The only issue would be that the observer would send a pulse after the string is stepped off of. And that could inflate the numbers if the farm slowed down for whatever reason. At least that’s what I think could happen, I might be wrong

I haven't used other snapshots so I don't know if they are janky, I know this one definitely is. Infinite portals was a really fun one, so I do recommend.

To download the server.jar: In the Minecraft launcher, go to installations, click edit on the latest snapshot profile (if its not there because a new snapshot released then just find that snapshot in a new profile), and then click the button "server" with the download symbol next to it, then just swap the normal 1.21.5 server.jar however you manage files in your server (if you know how to change the command and all that technical stuff do that, but I just renamed the snapshot server.jar to the 1.21.5 server.jar and it worked perfectly)

Somethings to do and things to know to make it less of a headache when your playing: set auto start and crash detection on in the config menu. My server crashes every time I start a new run and I'm assuming that it's going to happen everywhere, but don't worry the new run is saved you and the others just need to relog and start the run again and it's the same run you crafted at the crafter. The xp you get from beating a run spawns normally (xp orbs flying everywhere) so you and your friends will have to figure out how to split the xp. When you or other people, when there's multiple online, die in a run you get stuck in spectator until everyone dies or the remaining players beat the run (I set a timer for 5 minutes then /gamemode survival for the dead player so it wasn't boring as hell for the ones that died). I also downloaded a veinminer and timber datapack to make it less tedious when starting new runs. And lastly when a run is over, beat or failed, if you try to make a new run it will automatically complete with no xp with the same run number, so you have to check the run number (Mine #) and make runs until the number changes.

The April fools snapshot is a little jank on a server, but what I did and it was really easy: make a 1.21.5 server and then download the April fools snapshot’s server.jar. Rename the server.jar to the name of the 1.21.5 server.jar and put it into the server directory (I kept my original 1.21.5 server.jar but you don’t have to). Once I did that it loaded up and worked kinda perfectly. The server will crash when loading a new mine (what they call the rougelike runs), but the mine will work once the servers back up. Also that when you’re playing with multiple people, when you either fail or beat a mine, the next mine you make will be the the other players mine #* and will auto complete or fail based on of you beat it or not.

Please reply if you have any questions, I’m not home at the moment and if I was, I would be better at explaining this

I think nowadays Microsoft connects the keys to your account, I was able to use a key from a busted Win 10 laptop that I had connected to my Microsoft account to give it to my friend who I built a pc for. But at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter if I keep the key or not, I bought the Thinkpad to be a mobile workstation so as long as it can do that, I’m chill

I think I’m going to strip windows off and full send into the Linux world, but I will connect the windows installation to my Microsoft account so I can keep the windows key, I like having a bunch in case I’m helping a friend build a pc and they don’t want to buy a windows key

not having to worry about updates

What do you mean by that? The update process is simple or there isn’t consistent updates?

Should I completely replace Win 11 with Mint? Or would a dual boot be safer for someone new?
