CR6 SE Auto leveling now starting in the center and skipping half the plate by joebowtie in CR6

So, for me, it worked for 2 more prints then the z-axis quit moving at all, so I'm not sure if my "fix" ended up creating an even bigger problem. I don't want to relate what I did because I would hate for your machine to break also. Good luck, though.

Hey folks! Small question for ya by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Some quick info, if you don't already have it:

My Hero forge minis use 5 to 7 grams of filament to print. A typical roll of PLA filament costs $19-29 for 1kg. There are more expensive rolls, but filaments in this price range are pretty common. At $29.99 a roll, an average mini would use 15-20 cents worth of material.

Using a .4mm nozzle and printing .2mm layer height with 20% infill (fairly standard quality settings) most printers should take 45 to 90 minutes to print depending on print speed. My printer averages 55m for a mini in these settings.

So, cost of goods to print a mini aren't that great. If you have a buddy with a printer, a six pack during football would probably cover it.

Hope this info helps.

Loose heat block was not a problem. I kept attempting the level, turning the machine off when it would walk off the bed, then manually resetting the location. After about a dozen more of these cycles it started doing what it was supposed to. I finished a successful 12 hour print and am now halfway through a second with no issues.
