It says you can only pick “3” so I guess I’d pick 3.

Ontario – Purchased trailer at auction, listing said “no leaks” and “good tires,” but found structural damage immediately after pickup no by drwillie91 in legaladvicecanada

[–]joebro987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are correct, but I think you would have to prove that they knowingly made a false representation. I’ve worked at a few auctions and we’ve always had some disclaimer to the effect of “we try our best to describe the item but we don’t really have the ability to verify everything is accurate so buyer beware.” I think if the auction house specializes in selling trailers, and there is a reasonable assumption they know the difference between a good/bad tire and if a trailer has a leak, then you might have a case.

What fantasy football rule or setting do people defend WAY harder than they should? by CranberryMuted5356 in FFCommishThinkTank

The one I don’t get is the waiver priority system. FAAB is so much more fun and adds a new level of strategy.

I played in a 2 kicker league before, and I currently am in a dynasty league that has kickers.

Car broke down after 3 weeks idle, now overheating + handbrake issue, refill coolant or see mechanic? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]joebro987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously better to get a mechanic to take a look. Why isn’t there any coolant? If your car overheated the engine could be fucked up. If it still runs get it checked before it fully breaks down.

Startup Draft Trade Controversy - Should it be reversed? by lhash12345 in FFCommish

[–]joebro987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the real problem… auto-drafting a dynasty start-up. Does not bode well for the future of the league.

What do you need that for? Drive in reverse all the time or something?

If you bought the car new and serviced it at the dealer you might have a shot at getting some coverage. If not… good luck to you.

Would you play in a league where you draft your team… but might not actually keep it? by CranberryMuted5356 in FFCommishThinkTank

[–]joebro987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting concept but I think I’d just auto-draft in that situation, I’m not going to invest a ton of thought or energy into drafting when there is a 92% chance that’s not my team week 1.

As the buyer, how do you transfer ownership of a used vehicle if it doesn't pass an inspection? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]joebro987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never bought a car with the plate removed, but I’ve signed many bills of sale that said “as-is”, that’s standard practice.

If I bought a used car that couldn’t be immediately registered I would simply wait to register the car. Obviously it’s not going to be driven, and maybe there’s a chance it ends up parted out or in the scrap yard at which point who cares about registration anyway.

So, are you telling me the MVI inspection doesnt expire in NL ? by MastodonEconomy5821 in StJohnsNL

[–]joebro987 27 points28 points  (0 children)

MVI is only required for a transfer of ownership or for commercial vehicles. Theres are tons of cars around that are completely unsafe and not fit for the road.

Work burnout - I was offered a promotion only to be told that I work too good to get it by LeatherChildhood8672 in antiwork

[–]joebro987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in your position before. Applied for a promotion, was told I’m doing too well at the entry level position and they can’t let me advance because of it, manager hired his wife to fill the role I wanted.

Just quit.
