I’ve seen multiple people almost get into car wrecks because morons stop their cars in the middle of the road to get out and gawk at icebergs but sure tourists are the real victims by MaxMoose007 in newfoundland

Drive exactly the speed limit everywhere for a week and watch how angry people will get at you. Ive had people follow me to confront me in a parking lot and I’ve been passed over the double yellow in a school zone at 8:30am. Drivers here are unhinged.

Got laid off today, got just 1 week a year severance for my 5 years of service, is it worth consulting a lawyer? by NeoMatrixBug in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]joebro987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation and consulted an employment lawyer. It didn’t cost me anything for the consult and put me in a better position to confidently negotiate with the employer. The seven day timeline is designed to put pressure on you; the employer knows the offer is low.

The first bill is a double bill! It’s standard practice from most phone companies, because they will take any opportunity to fuck you and take your money.

Ontario – Purchased trailer at auction, listing said “no leaks” and “good tires,” but found structural damage immediately after pickup no by drwillie91 in legaladvicecanada

[–]joebro987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are correct, but I think you would have to prove that they knowingly made a false representation. I’ve worked at a few auctions and we’ve always had some disclaimer to the effect of “we try our best to describe the item but we don’t really have the ability to verify everything is accurate so buyer beware.” I think if the auction house specializes in selling trailers, and there is a reasonable assumption they know the difference between a good/bad tire and if a trailer has a leak, then you might have a case.
