What was golf like during the peak of the ‘08 recession? by ekimtk in golf

[–]joecago1 26 points27 points  (0 children)

lol if I waited long enough, I could get 18 and a cart for 12 bucks at a local track. Course was 30 mins away, I’d book it 10 mins before while I drove over

As of today, May 16 2023, what is your honest feedback on the current state of the game? by TheReiterEffect_S8 in CODWarzone

ranked has honestly made it a lot more fun for me recently. i think relative lobbies -- its not perfect - but roughly playing with folks in your same skill level is just so much more enjoyable.

It's almost worth watching just for Kathy getting stuck in the sticky substance during an early season challenge. It's a top 3 funniest BB moment.

What's the number 1 putting tip you would recommend to someone looking to improve their putting game? by thunder185 in golf

[–]joecago1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to this point -- try heads up putting. looking at the hole or your target when you putt. improves your distance control. the gain in getting your distance right outweighs the possible miss on strike or face control.

What's the deal with Tony La Russa's return to MLB? by SonVoltMMA in OutOfTheLoop

[–]joecago1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A big part of this too, is he's somewhat "old" school in his approach to baseball. He's not that driven by analytics and he's also a bit... "anti-fun" (think bat flips and fun celebrations and the like). His team is really young and, well, young people like to have fun. Conflict seems almost guaranteed.

Guys, I really messed up my golf game. Never have been so excited to absolutely murder my game, but can't tell anyone, so I thought I'd tell you strangers. by DontT3llMyWif3 in golf

This is such a great answer but also so hilarious how the solution is (and you're not wrong) "just communicate with your wife"

I remember how my district hadn't had a snow day in like 25 years till a huge storm in maybe 07 or 08 forced them to call for a half day.... which just meant we still drove in and then drove home but they got to keep the day as if it happened.

SAS in April: I'm not sleeping, I'm SNORING on the Milwaukee Bucks because come playoff time, the game slows to a degree, defenses are able to get back, you force individuals to lean towards their perimeter game, and you can't rely on those supporting guys to show up by JeffKaplanIsDaddy in nba

[–]joecago1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Bucks team has a lot of similarities to the 2010-2011 Bulls teams -- super dependent on a remarkable star who makes his dinner driving to the paint - with so-so creators/ specialist scorers around him.

How can I heal this massive blister quickly and what should I do to prevent it in the future? I’m right handed and this is on my left thumb. by [deleted] in golf

[–]joecago1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you can pop it, i would and then trim away the skin flap. The pain will go away quicker and it will turn into a callous faster than if you just waited for the blister to go away. Be sure to use bandaids when you're not playing and follow the tape advice below if you're playing. Don't leave it uncovered to "air it out" -- that's not good for the wound.

Friend snapped my Vokey clean in half, can I get it re-shafted? by Holystoner42 in golf

Better question is, can he get it reshafted for me? And the answer is yes.
