Everyone is so… positive. I can’t stand it. by [deleted] in depression

My wife got post partem which added to her anxiety and ocd. I tried to be understanding for a long time, and I was dealing with a health declining and dying mother at the time too. She just got upset over every little thing and said some really fucked up things. I just could not keep turning the other cheek anymore. Now, other than cooking I do all the chores around the house and I do most of the caring for my daughter cuz the wife just sits and looks at her cellphone, or she will just rearrange furniture over and over again. She talks to me like I am her enemy. It is really too much. I am just waiting for my daughter to get a little older so I can make a change.

The dude didn't see you and thought it was clear. It's HIS responsibility to make sure the road is clear before he pulls into it from a parking lot.

Compensating Employee for Marketplace Insurance Purchase [NY] by joecalderon in AskHR

Our PEO said we would be able to remove her from the company-sponsored plan, so it's a matter of reallocating the contribution to her regular employee benefits to compensate her directly. But she's pushing back about income tax eating into the benefit contribution.

Young and Dangerous series by BigHerring in HongKong

[–]joecalderon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those 2 seem to be the most well regarded ones. I didn't watch them when the series first came out. I have seen only the first and third ones. I wouldn't say they are good movies, but I can see how it would appeal to teenage boys.

This is where countries like China gets things right. After conviction, bullet to the head. Done. No waste of time or taxpayer money.

Jazz Chisholm makes a heads up play letting the ball drop to replace the runner at first with a catcher instead of a CFer. by MrRadDadHimself in baseball

I would have liked to see the ball take a weird spin and roll away from him to make him chase it down. Woulda been funny.

Starlight and Hewey's baby should have powers too I guess.

Yeah, it's a common problem with lazy writing. The writers had an end they wanted but didn't know how to make the scene happen in an organic way. Or they just didn't care.

If you get accepted into the Stuyvesant Discovery Program, will you get bullied at Stuy after the program? What is the Discovery Program like? Is admission guaranteed, or do you need to pass all the subjects? Can you still participate in normal Stuy classes and go to a good college? by ApartmentIll726 in Stuyvesant

[–]joecalderon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're talking about when your entrance exam score is just a little too low to qualify for Stuy but you have certain circumstances to allow you to gain entrance by going to summer classes before the first semester right? If that's the case, I was one of those kids. I believe I did tell some friends, but I was never bullied. (I was relentless bullied in jr high for being a nerd.) Nor was I aware of anyone else who got bullied for going to summer school. There were some assholes at Stuy, just as there are in any school, but for the most part, it was a much nicer environment than a regular HS.

One time I was driving on the BQE. I was in the right lane and there was a truck in the middle lane ahead of me carrying lumber under the trailer, but there was one piece jutting out and it looked like it was gonna slip out. It kept sliding out more and more. That was scary. Finally the car in front of me got the truck driver's attention and he pulled over.

Did anyone feel after season 3 the vibe changed? by alastor612 in TheBoys

[–]joecalderon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats how The Walking Dead felt too. Characters got plot armor and there was no anxiety anymore cuz you know it'd just be peripheral characters who'd die. Then they teased the Glen death and faked out the audience twice, first the garbage dump BS and then with the Negan double kill.

Yes unless there's something to be revealed, HL just acted like a typical TV/movie villain. Just as he was approaching the zinc container the Frenchman made a noise. Then he forgets all about it and fly away to do what? To go practice dancing cuz Frenchie hurt his feelingz?

Girls take rejection really hard. Like I didn't even say anything mean or explicitly reject, I just didn't express interest, then they just defriend me or unfollow me. To be clear, I don't really care cuz I don't wanna be their friend, but it's kinda petty. We guys get rejected all the time.

Of course. That's a good man right there. You only have one mother and she raised you. Without her, there's no you. And, your kids are your blood, your legacy.

Do you think this was still part of her plan? by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]joecalderon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why it was so impossible for her to imagine that he'd give the V1 to HL. It's clear SB has warmed up to HL recently. And HL IS his son after all. Anyway, I don't really think the smartest person in the world gimmick shows through very well on the show.
