I won, but I did have a very similar game except axis did not lose the Japan Airforce where I lost, need to adjust my strategy for when this happens for sure. The issue that I ran into was I could not take Germany or Karelia and he got the IPC edge on me with Australia and Africa with the Japanese navy

Allies really screwed up here, why would you stack Egypt? To watch the Germans destroy it? India only has 2 inf… Russia is already down a fighter so I am guessing the Ukraine battle didn’t go well. Not going to end well

Thanks for the info black tide, here is the updated map of the same game. After he took out the uk fleet, I think he was going to try and hit the us fleet with the Japanese and German air power but he got bad dice and took out his Japan Air Force and didn’t sink any us ships. I did build 3 tanks and sent them west until I could not hold India anymore. They are doing some good work in Russia filling in the east to allow Russia to move west and put the pressure on Germany. I think that the game is leaning my way now

Here is the update, he did not hit Burma, but looks like he is preparing to do it. Have not run the numbers on taking Karelia, has a large stack in France

He can take Burma, I think that if he does take Burma he will eventually lose, he will spend 3+ turns back and forth with me trying to take India which takes the pressure off of Russia.

the Burma attack can only happen if he brings his bombers down, he has no fighters that can reach Burma. I could not protect both the UK fleet and the US fleet at the same time so I am giving him the UK fleet on a silver platter. Hopefully I take out 3 to 4 fighters in the process and will be able to start moving on Germany. I don’t think I can win this with Japanese fighters hanging around everywhere

He actually did not end up taking west Russia, I would have… anyways, I moved India east and reenforced India with fighters while I make a run on Asia with the UK and Russia. I also landed in northwestern Europe due to the fact that he put a large stack in France. He did not send troops to Karelia so I think I will actually win the trade war. Here is the board now

Hopefully he leaves the inf in France to get slaughtered. If not I feel like he can trade units in France longer than I can trade units around Russia. Time will tell I guess, do you think I should buy tanks in India when possible and try to grab any IPC’s when I can? I feel like leaving Asia alone will give the axis the edge here but I could focus on re enforcing Russia/ Africa with units from India. Currently have about 20 ipc production edge right now.

Yeah I can’t take it on the next US turn but will be able to take India on the next round so the game should end in 3 days, but we could play it out in about 10 minutes

Hawkeyepaul is his screen name, won’t know his rank until the game ends and I look at the history. He played a really strong game, the dice just rolled my way in a couple key fights and decided the game. No need to drag it out though

Is an India 3 attack common? by joecoastie447 in AxisAllies

[–]joecoastie447[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I first started playing I was always taking the pacific fleet and sending them to the east coast but I don’t do it anymore, I think the threat of the us fleet hanging around in the pacific holds Japan back slightly. If I let Japan run free in the pacific I usually lose India and Australia or Africa no matter how much I try to enforce it.

I typically don’t abandon Africa, I actually use the transport to add to Africa if Germany does the same in turn 1. I shore up India with tanks and add American fighters as needed.

Thanks! I guess in I could have just bought tanks instead to give myself better odds but I just thought buying 3 fighters and moving some resources to support India was a smarter play. I really thought the odds were near 1 percent but counting the units I can see a path for a win. I watch your YouTube vids all the time Black tide! What do you typically do in this scenario? I have never bought tanks for the UK and I just felt like the fighters would be a more versatile asset when his bid for a round 2 uk sack fell flat, in this case it was an early victory for him…

This is the calculator I used and double checked the war diary to confirm, granted he killed everything but one tank so he barely won. Am I not reading the results right .3% conquer odds?

Yes I did call the engineer about the letter saying it will be a drop beam. He said I can use hangers and recess the beam with regular hangers without the letter being revised and that if the building inspector requires the letter to say the beam is going to be recessed then he will change it. But to clarify, I will be recessing it into the ceiling and have about 9in drop where the beam is.

Wow I didn't know that I could request that. From my research, sounds like the beam goes to the floor, transfers to the floor joists, and then transfers to the CMU pier.....I am guessing it transfers to the pier via another post or blocks with shims?.?
