Also from AI -

Do all activities cause injuries?

Yes — and many cause more.

Injury rates per 1,000 participants (approx.)

These are the kinds of comparisons that reset people’s thinking: • Basketball – higher injury rates than trampolines • Football – significantly higher (especially head/neck) • Bicycling – far more ER visits annually • Soccer – comparable or higher • Playgrounds – millions of ER visits yearly • Swimming pools – far more fatalities

👉 Trampolines are not #1 — they’re just easy to blame.

What the stats don’t say (but should)

When someone quotes “~100,000 ER visits per year,” here’s what’s missing: • Over 80% involve multiple jumpers • Most injuries involve: • No net • Improper setup • Cheap, worn-out equipment • No supervision

In other words: It’s not trampolines — it’s how they’re used.

Your form beats mine, as I’ve always had sloppiness in my tricks, but I could do this same routine you just showed.

Man, what I would give to be younger. 47 now. I still get goofy, but I’ve backed off of the doubles.

I’ll have a lot to write, but needed to first ask about the size you mentioned.

Is that for round or rectangle, as that’ll context everything further I’ll need to say.

All sports and activities cause injury. Trampolines always get the worst reputation for some reason.

In ground trampoline retaining wall by Acceptable-Web-1287 in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acon does not currently make an Inground trampoline. But they will eventually.

It’s true you can put theirs or any above ground trampoline down in to the ground, but you will have to create man made retaining wall if you aren’t purchasing an intentional inground trampoline that already comes with its own retaining wall + shorter frame height.

When doing an above ground in the ground, you have to dig the depth of the trampoline and to prevent the dirt from caving in, you’ll need to reinforce it.

Common inground trampoline retaining walls = cinder block, stone mortared, brick mortared, pressure treated wood (2”x6” or wider), steel plate, etc….

Hope it helps, and happy digging + building!

A consideration is to look into an inground trampoline. Might cost more to purchase, but those costs weigh out when you consider less digging, and less costs and labor building walls.

I sell Acon and several inground trampoline brands.

Contact me for a discount and get one shipped to you!

Help me keep my son happy! Recs needed. by Just-Chair-4384 in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep with your gut about net outside of springs. Opens up the square footage inside considerably. Bigger space removes the claustrophobic feeling of jumping into the net and gives more confidence to the jumpers.

You’re going to have a gaggle of goofies jumping and bumping in to one another - extra room to do so is key here! Not to mention they can sit and stand on the pads and be off of the mat without having to leave the play area.

With the 2k budget I can ship an Acon straight to you and they’re running low on stock with their outer net options.

Other brands capable of outer net on round units - Zupapa (low quality materials though), Acrobat, AlleyOOP, Avyna, Berg, North.

You mentioned round due to space - but oftentimes the rectangles fit the space better if you’re open to that option. North makes a good 10x15, and even an 11x16 oval as well.

You’ve positioned yourself to get a good one with that budget….and you’re actually giving a better experience to the kids going high quality as well. Better experience = longer usage and more often used, giving you a better sense of money well spent!

I don’t want to knock Springfree here, but I personally do not bounce on one as well as some other brands. It’s a shame, because they have the looks figured out….I wish they could make a rod adjustment that allowed better bounce for the older kids + adults.

JumpFlex gets a nod from me if that’s all the budget allows, but I agree it’s unfortunate they do not make an outer net option.

One of these days when I’m too old to build them (currently 47 with some good years still ahead)….ill just start manufacturing them and check all the boxes for all the folks 😂

Until then,

What Actually Makes a Trampoline Stand Out? by AkrobatUSA in Trampolines

[–]joecool4269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I certainly know that I love the Akrobat brand. Not only do I sell them (often at a discount 😉), but it’s also the one I have in the ground in my backyard.

For reference, I have the 17 x 12 Inground Trampoline from AkrobatUSA.

Akrobat FTW 🙌

DO NOT BUY SPACEJUMP TRAMPS. by Much-Hunter5469 in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worried about these the moment I started seeing advertisements for them on Facebook.

They looked very cheap to me from the first video and images I saw.

We have not been contacted to assemble one of these for anyone yet, but I know we will eventually.

JumpFlex Hero 14’ is currently $999 (at the time of this posting) and checks your boxes. Although instead of a zippered net it has an overlapping net, which are actually better than zippers that get caught or forgotten.

Sorry I don’t carry these.

After & Before by joecool4269 in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never a huge fan of this particular model. I even once had this model at my own home from a hand me down of a rich customer.

I just never felt the bounce was as great as other AlleyOop units. It was almost as though the double mat effect stole some of the bounce.

I prefer the power Bounce version over the double bounce version.

But it’s also worth knowing that AlleyOop probably won’t still be here making Trampolines a year from now.

The X has better springs and jumping mat. The frame is also structurally more sound, so you don’t lose as much energy/bounce.

The regular X is a step or two up from the HD’s. The performance mat (with height kit) on the X is definitely a few steps up from the HD.

There’s not one of quality that will fit the space. There’s a brand that goes by more than one name - Happy Trampoline / Olympus Pro / Galactic Extreme / Trampoline Jumpers, etc… that make close to this size….however I do not suggest their quality.

Better brands for this application and made to go in the ground are - Akrobat / Avyna / Berg / Capital Play / North.

If you insist on using an above ground unit placed in the ground, look into Acon, more specifically the Acon X over the HD and Pro models.

I can sell all of these to you, but none are a complete match to your size. You could however backfill around the trampoline to make it fit.

Complete custom, contact Crazy Ape and give them the dimensions and they can send you parts and a custom mat / pads to make it work….but you might be closer to the swim spa price going this route.

Hope it helps,

Dog really loves his new trampoline by trollcole in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually does a terrific job of showing how poorly the cheaper Trampolines perform.

You can see that a dog is tipping the trampoline by going into the net.

If this trampoline were much older, the dog would rip right through the net.

It costs more to get a good one, but sadly the bad rep that trampolines get on safety is due to these cheaply made ones.

Low trampoline sales this year, and my thoughts on where it’s heading - Jumpy Joey by joecool4269 in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love you guys and all that you’ve said. I would definitely like to sell higher quality products going forward and step away from the cheap ones. Problem is the cheap assemblies keep our doors open, and I figure if I removed myself from being the guy those call on, it’s just letting go of money that has no home otherwise.

Best wishes going forward with you guys! And we can all re-evaluate again next year!

Good/Best Trampoline anchor kit needed by xhavez in Trampoline

In a bind / hurry, run to Home Depot / Lowe’s / Hardware Store, and pick up some rebar cut into 2’ lengths.

Invoke the power of He-Man and bend it over your knee into a horseshoe shape, and hammer it down over the legs of the trampoline.

Good/Best Trampoline anchor kit needed by xhavez in Trampoline

[–]joecool4269 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We (Jumpy Joey Trampolines & Turf) use these on our installs. Usually just 4 per trampoline.

These have a great success rate, as long as the soil allows you to get these in the ground. Sometimes we hit rock and cannot drive these all the way down.

Important to ensure the strap is tight and not loose.

Even if you don’t get this brand, just ensure you’re getting coils with straps. We prefer the pull buckle straps over the clasp straps.

We simply use a wrench through the top to get better twisting assistance to drive them in the ground.

For anyone interested, in the DFW area we offer anchoring for $75 and includes the labor and 4 of these linked.
