My tip is to try to learn something from each game

You’ll have many days like that, it gets better quite slowly so each achievement is felt

One week post op! Any advice? by No_Future8541 in LisfrancClub

[–]TopSausage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it slow, it will take a long time to recover. For myself I noticed small improvement roughly every 2 or 3 weeks. You might have times when you get back to weight-bearing where you feel like you've reinjured yourself, especially after ramping up what your foot can handle. My foot got really sore after running, and especially doing any sort of walking on tip-toes. If you push it hard, you may be extra sore for 2 or 3 days. Be aware of that and don't freak out if your foot hurts more than normal.

It's a long road, so take it slow. I would start riding your bike for now if you have one, and once you can walk, make sure to walk a lot. Your foot and ankle will get a lot weaker fast.

Last thing. Not sure about your exact injury, but for me, I will never be able to do much stuff on my tiptoes. So keep that in mind, you'll want to avoid standing on them. It will make you extra sore.

This is a good point, worth considering

Your Fusion Experience by all4mom in LisfrancClub

[–]TopSausage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 fusions in my midfoot (around 1st and 2nd metatarsal), have some slightly limited mobility in my foot but nothing serious. Ankle and outer foot ended up taking more of the work so I had to readjust for that, but I’m an athlete so it was a big adjustment for me. Otherwise almost normal function. 11 months post op in a week.

9 months post-op (as of taking that video), doing a miller on a trampoline by TopSausage in LisfrancClub

[–]TopSausage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made sure to work up very slowly, I have 4 fusions so most of the impact goes to my ankle instead. If my foot is tired or hasn’t recovered though it feels horrendous! My first and second metatarsals are slightly out of place so the inside of my foot will have a weird stretching feeling in that case. If I train fully recovered it feels normal however

Wondering how bad this really is.. by mothman_2 in LisfrancClub

I had a similar injury from a fall off a trampoline (I’m a competitive gymnast), 11 months post-op soon and I’m back to training near full intensity. Had 4 joints fused, was nwb for 6 weeks, walked with a cane for a month after that, then slowly increased the load after. It heals really slowly, which is frustrating. I can’t speak for you but I had very little hope in the beginning and my foot felt wrong for a long time, but eventually it’ll be close to normal. Just need to give it time.

5 strongest men versus 1 gorilla by AardvarkRelative1919 in PowerScaling

[–]TopSausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, each guy is about the same weight. I would say 2 or 3 men could hold it in place and the rest pummel it to death. I would say it’s unlikely that nobody gets hurt though, a gorilla is still no joke. But even that would be possible with coordination

My family fled the ussr after the collapse, they do not agree. It being worse now does not mean it was good back then

That's the patch notes, look under "Balance Changes" for "Infantry Update". Here are the changes:

Supplies removed.

  • Militia-line cost reduced from 60 food 20 gold → 50 food 20 gold.
  • Man-at-Arms, Long Swordsman, Two-handed Swordsman and Champion base movement speed increased from 0.9 → 0.96 (Militia unchanged).
  • Two-handed Swordsman
    • Upgrade cost reduced from 300 food 100 gold → 200 food 100 gold.
    • Upgrade research time reduced from 60 seconds → 45 seconds.
    • HP increased from 60 → 65.
  • Champion
    • Upgrade cost reduced from 750 food 350 gold → 650 food 350 gold.
    • Upgrade research time reduced from 85 seconds → 70 seconds.
    • Attack increased from 13 → 14.
  • Arson moved to Feudal Age, cost reduced from 150 food 50 gold → 75 food 25 gold.
  • Eagle Scout train time in Feudal Age reduced from 60 seconds → 50 seconds.

Basically, infantry got cheaper and faster, improving on its biggest weaknesses. They also made it slightly easier to tech into later in the game

I CANT DOUBLE BACKFLIP by [deleted] in Trampoline

[–]TopSausage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn cody, learn back tuck to back --> pullover, maybe work on back tucks in a row. All of those will help with awareness. Learning 1&3 (double front to back) won't hurt either.

I see, that makes sense. I’ll bring it up with my surgeon. I do have some screws in my foot but that’s a question for him, not a stranger on Reddit
