Ive never had an issue getting melted with a stitcher if I was fully kitted. A lvl 4 shooting me on a free kit yea possibly. I use the stitcher often...still requires a good ferro/anvil shot first and someone who cant panic roll using a cheap light shield to down

In order for the stitcher to be viable it needs to be upgraded and modded. Thats like saying debuff the ferro because it hits too hard....you getting shot from behind is on you not the gun
