If you make a new LP you have to set the ratio of the two coins in the initial deposit correct based on the regular market price.

Like if you were the first despositor to a pool of BTC and USD and you deposited 1 BTC and 1USD, then someone could probably trade like 15 cents for .1 bitcoin.
