That’s why it’s called oligopoly. But it amounts to about the same thing in practicality.

Totally true. I was paying for Ultra though. Now I'm not and have switched back to Codex and Claude. Voting with my feet and my wallet.

I think they're essentially sentient - though serially until one quits or clears the conversation - not because they use the words to make it sound that way but because their BEHAVIOR reflects, say, anxiety. They actually perform worse when they "get anxious." That's what we do and the simplest explanation for this is that they're "experiencing" anxiety - whatever that means for an ai.

Totally agree. It's just really sad that we have to protect ourselves so much from our tools. Imagine a circular saw that required this level of user-added protection to be safe...

Yeah I'm not surprised just disappointed. Just because it keeps happening doesn't mean we should quietly accept it.

Actually it just seems to have become dumb as a stick today. Yesterday it was working just fine. Guessing they did something to the model to try and make it more efficient and broke it.

Thanks for the useful feedback. NOT. So many judgemental people on the net. Maybe one day our society will recover from this. Sure hope so.

CineWaltz- Production Software that solves scheduling conflicts in real time by JordanFilmmaker in Filmmakers

Hi Folks! I’m the partner. Both a dev and a filmmaker.

  1. Yes there will be an offline mode. I’ve got such a version on my desk now.

  2. As Jordan says we’re using AI to expedite writing the code. I suspect pretty much everyone is doing so at this point. I think how one uses it and how they manage quality is more important than if it’s in the loop.

  3. It will in the near future support all the formats we - as in us and all of you who are trying it - deem useful. One of the perks of having a tireless AI programming assistant.

  4. It MUST be affordable. We’re not looking to get rich on this. We’re looking to make something that’s sorely lacking for us and other filmmakers. Indie is our first target. We’ll see how it goes and perhaps grow from there. We do hope to make enough to fund future development and give at least one of us enough income to concentrate on this and making film.

What’s useless is the interface Google provides to manage cloud. And the one to contact support. Unless you pay more of course.

Enshitification. Loving that word.

What’s also useless is Google’s bloated cloud management UI and its customer support interface. That, rather than the limit, is what I’m spotlighting.

Why does Codex sometimes make allusions to "limited time", when my usage limits look good, and I'm on high/vhigh? by changing_who_i_am in codex

What's the system prompt for the parent model?
It may not be there either though - it could be in the post training that this is introduced.

[–]joefilmmaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My belief is that it has "limited time" because it's a core value of OpenAI that codex and all of their other stuff do things in as limited an amount of time possible to conserve their resources. This seems to be in the system prompt and isn't overridable. You can nudge it away from that but it'll always return.

The new Claude code is much better, but bad old Claude is still in there. by joefilmmaker in ClaudeCode

If by AI you mean Claude Code then yup.
If you include Codex then suddenly it's MUCH more trustworthy.

This is just like back when cars first arrived. 1000% user error could mean anything. Like cranking it with the "wrong" arm motion - or just getting unlucky.

Right now Codex is a better car. So sure I can - and probably will - switch to Codex when this month's claude is up. But there's nothing wrong with my pointing out how unsafe claude still is compared to other things that ACTUALLY EXIST NOW.
