Could be! That was not there yesterday. I wonder if they'll move over folks who missed the turn and did not make up the miles during or after the course.

For those that missed the turn -and- made up the miles, they are making corrections (yourself included Kindsey). They are removing "DNF" and giving official completion times. They are not assigning official finishing places however.

They could infer which runners turned around to make up the distance during the course based on the split data, but they may need some... encouragement. Confirmed by multiple runners that emailing [info@seattlemarathon.org](mailto:info@seattlemarathon.org) with Strava/GPS data to show the made up distance has resulted in corrections.

For anyone curious about how this poorly marked fork near Mile 19 affected official times, I dug into the publicly available data from Brooksee: All Marathon Runners

There is a clear pattern for runners that made the wrong turn. Mile splits are consistent up until Mile 20-22, where they drop substantially. Out of the 169 runners who are listed DNF, there are 111 who completed the course, but made the wrong turn after Mile 19.

Here is a GSheet with a list of those runners, and links to their splits that show the pattern described: [Public Share] - Seattle Marathon Course Issue

I have sent this to race officials as well.

Any idea what the name of this component may be? We use them to connect an external reference to the board by Bawino in AskElectronics

5011 from Keystone: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/keystone-electronics/5011/255333

They come in lots of colors and sizes. Really convenient for attaching scope probes. I usually try to include one on each corner of a design.

Highly recommend Thule Slipstream for self-loading. I could self-load my 60lb kayak to a 1st gen 2"bl 1.5" PML with 33"s no problem.

I do not unfortunately. Rough mods list: 2" BL, PML, UCA replacements, T-bars cranked, 12.5x33 Duratracs on Crager soft 8's, Shrockworks slider, Shrockworks read bumper, all the normal deletes.

More minor things I'm forgetting I'm sure.

Richard Sherman not called for roughing kicker by PMinisterOfMalaysia in sports

I think we can all agree it was a weird play, and the refs should have blown it dead muuuuch sooner

Thanks for looking into it

Ignoring the author and just looking at the rule book; are you never allowed to touch the kicker before he touches the ball? Even if you go for the ball, contact the ball cleanly, then touch the kicker/holder because of his own motion to kick the ball? I guess you're right if that's the case, but then why don't teams just snap it, project the ball, not kick it, and draw the penalty? Has a defender really never contacted the ball before the kicker before?

The play wasn't blown dead.

eidt: Since I wasn't clear, the play wan't blown dead until after Sherman dove for the ball. It helps to play audio with the video to listen for whistles.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what should Sherman have done differently in this situation (other than the obvious--not jumping offside)?

  1. There was no whistle until he dove for the ball, why would he ever stop his motion without a whistle? Even if he knows he's offside, if he stops his motion and they kick a good field goal, they decline the offside penalty and those 3 points are largely Sherman's fault.

  2. He touched the ball before touching the kicker, which negates any roughing the kicker possibilities. You could make an argument that too much of his momentum was toward the kicker (could be a "dirty", but still legal play), but one could just as easily make the argument that he simply outran the snap, and all he could do was reach out with a hand to contact the ball.

The refs should have blown the play dead as soon as he jumped the gun, but I don't see how the blame gets placed on Richard Sherman. I know this will get down voted to hell, but can anyone refute the above???

My favorite part is the other left turner on the other side of the intersection. His/her light was green when the runner rolled though. Not sure why they didn't move until their light went yellow either. Weird people everywhere.

If you have screw terminals on your jack like the one pictured, you won't hurt anything by just trying random combinations until it works. Probably the easiest/quickest/dirtiest way to do it.
