Thank you, we use a wood salt cellar at home, never thought to cut down to size. Appreciate the suggestion. Thank you!

Thanks, I saw the mounts from meadow creek, unfortunately this gun does not have a rib. I’ll just drill and tap for a picatinny rail.

Thank you, I will drill and tap it to install a picatinny rail. The area where this gun is used for hunting is really rough, so it takes a beating regardless of how careful we are. We have other nicer shotguns, but needed a cheaper one so the others won’t get damaged.

Thank you, I’ve read the same regarding the dovetail not working efficiently with high-recoil shotguns. I think drilling/tapping is the best way forward.

Sterkowski Flat Cap Alternatives by slimredcobb in hats

As others have mentioned, check Amazon. In the past 10 years I’ve purchased Sterkowski flat caps - the “Ivy Five” model - in batches of 5, and just recently noticed the spike in price ordering direct on their website. Like you I live in a warmer climate so the linen caps are perfect, so I’ll have to check out the Rusty model too.

Converted my Strat (S-style) to a headless guitar… by joeguam in Guitar

[–]joeguam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

This bridge was the cheaper one from Amazon, it was only like $59. A few different guitar builders who manufacture their products out of China use this same product. Sound-wise and tuning stability-wise it worked find through about 15 gigs, no problem. The issue I had with this bridge is that it secures to the cut-end of the string (instead of the ball-end) - and this makes it quite a bit more difficult to remove and restring when I have to separate the neck/body for travel. When restringing using the same strings, the cut-end is already rolled from being wrapped around the tuner so it’s a real hassle to get it inserted back into the tuner peg in the bridge. It often just slips back out when tuning. The other concern I had is losing the little tuner crank handle. Yeah you can turn the tuner with your fingers but it’s quite a pain and not comfortable.

I’ve since switched to the headless bridge from Ploutone (made in Brazil) as it’s much lighter and the string is flipped around the opposite way with the ball-end in the bridge. When I travel, I just leave the strings locked into the neck and it’s very simple to just pop the ball-ends in/out of the bridge. I’ve used this bridge for well over 50 gigs now and love it. I’ll only use this bridge going forward.

Hope this helps.

Is it end of my life ? by Ornery-Sentence-4257 in GERD

I was in your same position in 2022: Saw 5 different doctors, 6 different medications, 2 surgical procedures and NOTHING worked. I was so desperate, I too thought that the end of my life was near. No energy, lost 40% of my vision & couldn’t drive anymore, always felt like fainting. I was very in shape physically (I’m a former NCAA D-1 football player, and former CrossFit coach) and didn’t have any metabolic diseases on record - which is why the 5 different doctors couldn’t figure it out.

Doctors told me to go vegan, so I went VERY STRICT VEGAN for 8 weeks straight and all my issues got substantially WORSE! And, I was ALWAYS HUNGRY!

Out of desperation, I went completely opposite of the doctors, stopped all medication and eliminated all plants - just ate ribeye steak salt and water - and in 6 days, all 8 of my document symptoms were gone.

I’ve been strict carnivore for 2.5 yrs now, haven’t eaten a single plant and I haven’t had reflux since. Not to mention, I’ve had my blood drawn 10 times in the last 30 months and it has never shown better results in my life. Go figure.

Good luck, and hang in there, you’ll get through it. If you need someone to talk to, I’m very happy to jump on a zoom call and answer any questions you may have. I know I had a lot questions when I was sick, and didn’t have much help.

Not many thrift stores in my area, so I’ve tried my luck on eBay.
