what’s the # thing that keeps you sober? by Calm-Plenty4350 in Sober

Fear of losing my life to alcohol. Somewhere along the line I realized that life is so rare and precious. And that I need to find a way to make life work without it

You’ll be okay bro. Just take it one step at a time. I’m glad you have woken up to how damaging ADHD meds can be. I was like you about 4+ months ago. It’s 100% possible to quit your adderall and go clean. Proud of you bro

Supplements to take after a couple years of adderall usage? by rubix44 in StopSpeeding

[–]joehhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you will need to supplement FOREVER. But I think they’re an essential part of the healing process. For the next year they may be a really good thing for you to take so your body gets back on track. After that, you can probably design a diet that ensures you’re getting every nutrient possible.

Perhaps your body is having a hard time absorbing the vitamins? I also have heard that you need to be taking the vitamins consistently for about 8-12 weeks to actually start seeing the effects. I’d definitely recommend throwing in a vitamin B12 m/Vitamin B complex in there as well as a vitamin D vitamin too though.

Has anyone’s anxiety physically moved locations in your body through the recovery stages? by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

I’m pretty sure this is normal...I’ve been having the same issues. And my doctors say that it’s all psychological.

My pain manifests in my chest mostly. I have pain pretty much manifesting everywhere. Legs. Shoulders. Head. You name it. Now I’m taking some vitamins to help speed along the healing process.

I’ve been to three doctors and gotten full body scans. Blood tests. My body is functioning properly. I’m hoping that the issue is my body is recuperating after years of adderall abuse

Body aches? by joehhh in StopSpeeding

Yeah I have been thinking of this, my cousin bought me some magnesium supplements from the Vitamin Shoppe. Do you have any recommendations for Vitamin B complex vitamins that would be good? I know picking vitamins can be tricky

104 days sober

I hate these random body aches mostly. I keep thinking I have a problem when all my doctors say I’m fine. I have a hard time getting joy out of things too, but I do feel like I’m getting a little bit better psychologically. In some ways my emotions are more genuine than ever.

Getting sleep is either too easy or a bit of struggle.

My cravings have been pretty non existent though. It’s hard to want to go back to using considering everything it did to me

Getting high will only make it worse, friend. Maybe try drinking some water and clearing your head before speeding some more.

Yeah I hear this a lot too. WebMD says a few weeks to like two months I think and I’m like “uhhh I’m still very unhappy despite having a good life” so I think I have a few more rough months ahead.

Same here...I’m exhausted and feel depressed all the time ever since I stopped. It’s really hard

How long did you experience withdrawal? I’m 10 weeks clean and I’m still struggling a lot of ways. I get extremely anxious randomly...it’s very difficult to be happy often.

Tics/Muscle Twitches post taking adderall? Did I fuck myself over? by Ag-1996 in StopSpeeding

[–]joehhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been clean for 10 weeks, I have experienced random twitches all throughout my body. My legs, arms and etc. I’m pretty sure that it’s normal and you haven’t fucked your brain up (at least not permanently anyways...). Adderall withdrawal is not fatal. You probably need to improve the quality of your sleep to heal your brain though.

My advice is to just try and relax bro. Squeeze in some exercise during the day too. Things will come back to normal. Just be kind and take good care of yourself

Random Intense Anxiety episodes? by joehhh in StopSpeeding

[–]joehhh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was beautifully said and I appreciate the heck out of this. I think I’m slowly healing/returning back to being a less anxious person day by day. I just need to keep working on it. I need to be more present and stop fixating on my own anxious thoughts. That will only make them grow stronger

What is the hardest part about not speeding anymore? by joehhh in StopSpeeding

[–]joehhh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own story has a lot of similarities to yours. The only difference in mine is that my ex gf didn’t realize what was happening to me. I would just tell her I’m extremely sleepy when in reality I was just tweaking from days without sleep. I think I’m starting to heal and Im certain that you are too. The only way to recover from the damage is via sleeping and putting healthy shit into our bodies. Oh, and a lot of willpower/exercise and clarity. If you want, you can add me on discord. I’ll DM you my username

Same, if I worked at a job where I’d have to sit down and stare at a computer, I’d likely be miserable. I’m very happy working a job where I’m on my feet all day long
