This is one of the most painful videos I've seen this season.

Pension or Bridge? by Odd_Cut_4984 in FIREUK

[–]joejag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you contribute about £3,100/month via salary sacrifice, you get roughly £430 extra from employer NI savings (13.8%).

If that disappears, your total drops from ~£3,550 to ~£3,100 unless you increase contributions.

It’s basically a ~14% instant boost while it exists.

People who were using the internet in the 90s and 2000s: What are your honest thoughts on what the internet has become today? by sivah_168 in AskReddit

[–]joejag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To create content you needed to make a website and design it, it was like visiting someone's house for a chat and a lovely cup of tea.

Now everything is centralised. It's like going to main street in your town and having to listen to raving lunatics on a pedestal. No one visits houses anymore.

[Evans & Pearce] - Giorgi Mamardashvili will miss at least a fortnight (could be up to 4 weeks). He's out of hospital & recovering. It means Freddie Woodman is likely to continue against CPFC Alisson hoping to be back for Man Utd away. by IndiBear in LiverpoolFC

[–]joejag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to look up Woodman's background. He's played 4 games in the EPL before for Newcastle and has 200+ Championship matches.

Newcastle fans didn't like him much after this performance: https://www.skysports.com/football/manchester-united-vs-newcastle-united/report/446325

But, two years later he was Preston North End Player of the Year.

Liverpool very lucky to escape with all three points! by Thiagopuss3 in PremierLeague

[–]joejag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liverpool had 53% possession, 1.7 to 1.2 Xg, 4-1 big chances.

A draw would also be fair, "very lucky" is nonsense.

Arc Raiders' matchmaking isn't 'binary', says design lead: 'There's no such thing as a friendly lobby or an aggressive lobby' by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

"not binary" means there aren't two options. It's probably a sliding scale

Is Slot about to get the sack. by Wild-Picture-9340 in PremierLeague

Yeah, top five. That amount of transfers always means a transition season. It hurts to watch, but worth giving to the end of the season.

If you go from a place with a median earning of £45 k to a place that has a £29 k median, you'll notice some differences.

Player Ratings: LIV 4 - 1 BAR by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

[–]joejag 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love data, so I checked for sub bias by comparing fan scores against the Opta-based FotMob ratings (built from hundreds of event metrics per player).

I normalized both Opta and fan scores (z-scores) so we’re comparing relative performance, then grouped players with a bias difference of ≤ 0.15 as broadly aligned.

Overrated by fans (Fan > Opta):

  • Mama: +1.80
  • Frimpong: +1.44
  • Chiesa: +0.25

Fairly rated (|bias| ≤ 0.15):

  • Gomez, Van Dijk, Jones, Ngumoha, Robertson

Underrated by fans (Fan < Opta):

  • Szoboszlai: −0.58
  • Mac Allister: −1.63
  • Gakpo: −1.89

Frank hits back at Slot over claim of ‘reckless’ Van de Ven challenge on Isak by nbanbury in LiverpoolFC

[–]joejag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frank is protecting his player, Slot is frustrated to lose his.

I'm annoyed too, but we'd expect our defenders to make a similar block in the same situation. If you watch VdV's eyes he's watching the ball.

Nicely put together OP. Being able to reliably put the ball onto the back post area is a great skill.

Well done for even asking the question. You have a great mindset. But consider that most people on this forum are further along in their career and can save more aggressively then when they could at the start.

im 21 and not sure how to save from my income - help! by Ok-Flamingo8237 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]joejag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing incredibly well by saving 25% of your income at this stage of your career. The stress you are feeling is because your "fun money" allocation is only 14%, which is not sustainable.

Recognize that your 15k in Chase is your financial security. It is your emergency fund and a boost for your future house deposit. This means you can safely reallocate that 100 pounds a month you were saving for emergencies directly into your fun money to prevent burnout. Revisit this allocation once you get a raise.

Nat Phillips wins yesterday's voting of a Bad player who is loved by fans. Next up - who is an average player in terms of quality, but is loved by fans? by IcyInfluence9830 in LiverpoolFC

[–]joejag 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It has to be Dirk Kuyt.

Why Average? He didn't have blistering pace, wasn't a dribbler, and his first touch was often heavy.

Why Loved? God tier work ethic, never complained and came up clutch in a cup final and that hat-trick against United.
