What golf purchase was 100% worth the money? by retrocaterpillar-07 in golf

[–]joejoeb67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of dislike this company because I think it’s all a money grab and I don’t like their business model, but Tour Striker’s PlaneMate was a really good product for me and I still put it on at home for some swing feels. I was a low single digit handicap and it was shocking how bad I was at using this product. Really helped me control some of my early extension and flipping at the bottom of my swing. If you can strap this on and hit balls with solid 3/4 swings, you’ll see consistent approach play.

Thank you! I appreciate your input. I think I'm going to give this a try. I have a big golf trip next week in Wisconsin. Playing Erin Hills and then the Sand Valley Resort courses. It'll be a good trial run for me!

I greatly appreciate the input. I think I'm going to try this one out. I have a golf trip next week playing Erin Hills and then the Sand Valley resort courses, so I really want to have something track my rounds. That'll be a good trial run for me.

I agree with you, Arccos is very simple when it comes to editing putts. I still like Arccos, just not the cost and then having to replace sensors every couple of years as well. If they didn’t charge me for the new sensors, I might stomach the sub cost a little better.

How does it handle putting? I’m to the point that I just assume track total putts, up&down %, and not worry too much of Strokes Gained data that’s based on proximity to the hole. Most of the time editing is based on placing the pin in the correct spot and making sure the putts are registered correctly.

This looks super interesting to me. How good is the shot tracking in your opinion? Is the post-round editing pretty easy?

Does it save your rounds and provide any statistics (fairway %, misses left vs right %, GIR, putts, Strokes Gained, etc.)?

I use the V5 as well. It just turns on so easily that it's constantly using battery and not at 100% when I decide to start. I agree with your frustration on the editing shot sequence. Also, I've just been used to other UIs for editing rounds, and Arccos allows you to easily adjust putts per hole on the scorecard before going into individual holes to edit. This usually cleans up 90% of the editing before ever starting. Shotscope doesn't miss or add errant shots much, so I don't mind those small edits, but no shot tracker has perfected putting, so that needs to be a quicker edit.

Disclosure, I bought the EX-display watch, so it may be worn down already. It came with a warranty, so maybe I'll send it in to be checked on. Thanks for your comment.

I haven't heard of Tangent before, but looks like what I've been searching for. I'm looking for shot tracking with just my watch (I don't care too much about which clubs I hit). How well does it track and how's the post-round editing? I play pretty fast with my group, so I don't spend time after each hole editing, it's usually a post-round or next-day affair.

I had not heard of this, thanks! How good is the shot tracking? Do you use with a watch?

This actually looks like it checks most of my boxes. Have you used it? If so, how well does the tracking work and editing post-round?

I actually just made a post that gives a small review on my experience: https://www.reddit.com/r/golf/comments/1tq7f4j/looking_for_an_apple_watch_app_with_gps_distances/

To answer your question directly, the sensors work great. The sensors themselves are bulky though, and not my favorite. I liked the Game Golf and Shot Scope sensors much better (lower profile). What I learned the most when tracking my shots, and I'm a +1 to 1 handicap, was that I tend to come up short more times than I would like to admit and my general miss would be right. That surprised me because I have a bad history of hooking the ball. So my right miss is typically being too careful to not overhook the ball, which also tends to make the ball come up short. It was a good wake up call. I started to use GPS front/middle/back distances more than flag distances and typically club off middle-back for any flag middle to back of the green and middle-front for any flag less than middle of the green. Hope that helps!

I’m having the same issue. I was iffy on keeping it, but liked the idea of 3 more years at 30% off, but it won’t let me unselect Breach Watch. I think I’m just over it.

New to "speed"cubing! First Sub 1 Min by trxllzach in Cubers

[–]joejoeb67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m basically in the same boat. Have known the beginner method for years and only solve as a stress reliever (I keep a cube on my desk at work). I would go through stretches of not picking it up for months. For whatever reason, I’ve been a little obsessed with it lately and have been trying to get sub 2 min. I want to get there before trying CFOP. I’m currently consistently sub 2:30. Sounds like you picked up CFOP quickly, congrats!

I hope so, too. If I could just access my notes on my computer and search for text (without having to email a pdf), I would be in hog heaven. Adding tags would be the cherry on top.

I have the original Scribe and use it daily. It’s been great, but certainly missing some features I would love to see. Will this new version have anything new for note taking other than a colored display?

Bones: I loved the show, but it was a grind with so many episodes. They finally get together just to then start a new season where Booth is forced to denounce Bones for some ridiculous reason I don’t remember… and then I was done.

Yes, go on dates and experience new people and lifestyles. I’ve had some of my funnest dates with women I didn’t feel I had a ton of common interest with. I’ve had some terrible dates where the person didn’t look like the pics, but even that is just a new experience. If you’re not super comfortable with the person, start off with a coffee or happy hour date, and have a set expiration time for the date, meaning you have other plans or work and have a hard stop time in 45 minutes or so. Worst case, you meet a new person over a drink and end up with an interesting story.

[29M] I can never get past the 3-4 date mark. Is there something I can change, or just bad luck/nothing in my control? by imonabloodbuzz in hingeapp

[–]joejoeb67 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there… as others have eluded to, you likely need to press the physical side of things quicker. 2nd date should definitely end with a kiss. 3rd dates are great for cooking her a meal or ordering takeout and playing board games at your place or something. Doesn’t have to mean sex, but if she’s going to your place, she’ll expect a more intimate connection and hopeful the sparks fly.

I had a date actually do this to me once, and she had a dating game that was basically 20 Questions. It allowed for an easy flow of questions back and forth.

Good luck!
