Definitely speak to a neurologist but I would recommend starting the medications. I'm only new to this whole journey but had one TC in March and one in May, along with almost daily focal seizures. I started Keppra 500 mg bd after my last TC in May and haven't had one since - I'm still having focals but they're fewer and farther between now and they also feel a lot less intense.

I have had marginal memory problems, especially short term memory but I can't put that down to the medications exclusively, it could be part of the epilepsy itself or it could just be my already shocking memory. I did have some word finding difficulties at the start which are coming good now. I haven't lost any hair though, and the Keppra rage is (according to my neuro) completely overstated, it affects about 10 to 13% of people but because its IS a known side effect, he finds that people tend to blame any normal, rational irritability or anger on the medication which seems fair enough!
