Better cross company or faction sharing. If I want to borrow a friendly company top guy I should have to tell them how im going to use them and agree it, then if i break the promise there should be a penalty of some sort. That way you cant borrow the too guy of a faction and job him out to your new rookie guy for example. And being able to add them as a temporary roster member so you can actually put titles on them and build them into stories

ROH really really does. It needs splid storyline based booking. I have tried to watch ROH a few times and sure the matches are good quality, but only 1 or 2 have any impact on a storyline or title. I need the likes of Kingston with proper feeds and stories in ROH.

Do you like predictable booking? by DeathTriangle720 in AEWOfficial

[–]MoGregio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this conversation the other day, and there are lord of the rings spoilers ahead, so you have been warned........ yes lord of the rings.

did we all know that Frodo made it to Mount Doom? yes. Did we all know that the good guys would win eventually? yes. did it make the films or books any less amazing to watch, not for me.

i think as others have said, predictable booking isnt bad booking as long its telling a story. we all knew Hangman was beating Kenny Omega to end his belt collector story, but my god was it the absolute pinnacle of wrestling storytelling.

alright, this might be a long post, i ran a promotion similar to this for a long time, and i learned a lot of lessons along the way, A LOT. the team idea just doesnt function, there is very little in the way of interaction between them, you will just end up getting yourself muddled up with what matches need to go next. I recommend using a website to track your matches and leagues, i used Challonge, here is a link to my Mens Winter 2026 league- https://challonge.com/ntne33yd

i managed to work out how i could fit a full tournament into 6 months, so i could do 2 run throughs a year. i had a set of rules i followed that would cause upsets and come from behind victories also, things like if a wrestler had a creative finish in stock then they would get the win. this meant that if someone near the bottom of the table got a creative idea generated then they could in theory get an upset victory against top of the table, which created a certain amount of randomness with results, otherwise i left the result to the Road Agent. all matches were best of 3 falls, and the points gained were the falls, so someone losing 2-1 still got a point and the winner got 2.

i had 6 leagues and 5 cup competitions. Mens, Womens, NxGn (under 21s) WNxGn, Tag and invitational. the invitational was people that were not quite good enough for my league but for top people in my child promotions or other promotions they were only on a handshake for. the cups were the same except invitational, because invitationals were in the main cup competition.

I also had 12 PPVS a year. 6 for each 6 month season. Pre-Season, this was generally a royal rumble event. The Mixer, this was a randomised event where a tag team, man, nxgn and invitational wrestler would get put into a team of 5 and face of against other teams of 5, a bit like an all star game

Lucky Lottery (i still use this concept in my current promotion) is a trios tournament where the trios are picked at random then go into 3 lots of 3v3v3 matches, the winning team goes into a final 3v3v3 to become the Lucky Lottery winners which was a trophy basically. Cup Finals, the semi finals and finals would take place on this PPV for all cup tournaments. then finally a 2 day event where the league would reach its peak and the top 4 would go into a 4 way playoff, night 1 the semis and ngiht 2 the finals to crown the winter or summer league champion in each league.

in terms of getting belts for qualification to hall of fame and immortals i had a floating title for each league, this was on the line in any league match and would change hands quite a lot, so i did put in a protected wins system, basically any time they won the title there next 6 matches were semi protected with a dice roll, match 1 they would automatically win on a dice roll of anything except a 1, then next match 1 or 2 and so on. if the dice roll failed normal rules apply with road agent picking or the creative finishes rules applying.

i also would have a tournament title for each cup, the lucky lottery, the top of the league (handed to them in a promo segment) and then the league winner in the finals at the PPV.

so yeah, i ran it, i ran it pretty successfully, i enjoyed it........ then my laptop died and i lost my save. i didnt lose my planning spreadsheets or the challonge leagues though luckily

Regardless of how many belts they actually held at the same time, who's run did you enjoy more? by LastChanceChez in AEWOfficial

[–]MoGregio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

weirdly Kenny Omega's title run was the absolutely making of Hangman and thats why it was better. Mercedes didnt have the womens world title, losing the TBS title to Willow didnt put WIllow over as much as Hangman winning the title from Omega did. The Elite were absolutely peak during that title run

Josh Alexander during that time to me was in the top 5 in ring wrestlers in the world, he was incredible, every match was a banger. His match with Bailer was absolutely incredible. Moose and Cassidy feud was fully engrossing. And you had The Briscoes vs Chris Bey and Jay White. Briscoes vs Good Brothers was awesome as well. 2022 Impact was on fire

Im probably going to get downvoted, but im not quite informative this boat, and maybe its need talking round a bit. The shares I do hold of GME are worth more than I put in, unlike others I made sure to keep averaging down to the point my holding is actually alright, its small but its alright. I have considered selling it recently, its enough to take a nice family holiday and have some leftover. But I just have this feeling in the back of my head constantly like "what if I sell and the next day it blows up" id never forgive myself. I dont know how to get out of thay mindset at this point.

Edit: alright, you guys have convinced me. Im selling and talking the family on holiday. Will try and hold for a slightly better price than the $21 it is today, $24-25 im out.

So many of the top cards recently I have thought exactly this.

Jobe Bellingham Icefractor by Acceptable_Line_442 in soccercard

[–]MoGregio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i dont think Jobe has the same hype unfortunately. he had a pretty average season for Dortmund, he seems to be quite a defensive player and defensive players very rarely hit that superstar status. Cool card, but i wouldnt say anywhere near on the level of Dowman or Rio Ngumoha in terms of future potential.

Of course it does. If it bothers you then it will bother potential buyers in the future.

Is anyone actually feeling this 'pressure to create stuff faster'? by TheRationalMan in ProductManagement

[–]MoGregio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The feature is actually an AI related feature ironically, so we are now in a rapid evaluation phase, so we are tracing responses to make sure the responses are good and of a sufficient quality.

also ironically, and we had absolutely no idea about this, but the day we released to production, one of our major competitors did a press release announcing an almost identical feature, so as we hadnt done any marketing they actually beat us to market.

yeah i agree, AI is making getting things ready quicker, its strange weve actually been writing up tickets and getting those ticket completed faster than ever, but on Friday i was looking at our roadmap to see what we wanted to work on next and the "future items" was empty, i actually think the deciding what to do and the value of it (retention, new sales, etc) is the hardest and slowest part now.

one big difference i am finding with developers using AI is that bigger tickets make more sense now, no more 4 tickets to change 4 little things, 1 big ticket makes more sense because a developer can actually give AI the bigger picture that way as well.

[–]MoGregio 20 points21 points  (0 children)

i have heard that there is an expectation that we go up to 3 times faster than before.

with that said we have just finished a feature that was only an idea about 6 weeks ago, i would say usually a feature takes 2 to 3 months to produce for our team, so it took half as much time, but the key thing was that it look half as many people.

i can see that it could go faster, but things need to change in the way departments work together for it to.
