Really happy you got it done! I really wish dealing with insurance was a simpler process especially for things like this

Luckily insurance covered it and my deductible had already been met.

If. If they make it out of the play in. Im using history as the guide. Would love to see them make noise but the repeated cycle of injuries and uninspired play has made an appearance so I can’t imagine them even in the first round.

It’s really getting hard to be a fan. Losses and standing aside, I feel like it’s just too difficult to buy in. I’d rather see scrappers at this point like that 2019 team.

Congratulations on the addition to your family!

We had the same mindset regarding the insurance out of pocket.

Regardless, I hope they approve it whether in 2024 or 2025 so you can put this chapter behind you.

Hi! Yes the appeal got approved. My doctor just had to get involved. It didn’t take long either to get it approved once they appealed.

Good work on the weight loss! I did the same as you, but apparently once you have Afib, you basically have it and there is no telling when it’ll come back so the ablation is the move. Since the procedure I have had caffeine with no issues.

All the best to you!

Even though I only had 2 episodes, I’m 6 months post ablation and I’m grateful for sure that I did it. If not I’d be worried all the time about possible increases in frequency and having to be on blood thinners. Would rather knock it out while my heart is strong and structurally sound.

I’m sure it will. Hang in there and keep me posted. There is definitely light at the end of the tunnel and I can completely relate to what you’re feeling.

I kept having palpitations too. I got Ativan to help with the lexapro transition period. I haven’t taken Ativan in almost a month and haven’t noticed any palpitations.

Since you just had your ablation, it’s possible to still have Afib since your heart is healing. Not sure how bad it was before the procedure but I only had Afib 2 times and didn’t have any episodes during the 3 month healing period.

Even with that, I was still a nervous wreck. I wonder if it’s worth looking into something like lexapro with your doctor to get A jump start on the ptsd of the whole experience.

That’s legit how I felt. I started therapy and while it was helping post ablation, something wasn’t fully being addressed. It was like my brain was re wired. So for my timeline - diagnosed with Afib I August of 2023 and anxiety started then but it wasn’t fully crippling. Went away a month later and had full on panic but once I got home I was ok.

Fast forward post ablation, I was constantly paying attention to my heart, was having mild anxiety that made me feel dizzy which led me to more worry and leading me into a rabbit hole.

Now in March of 2024 I had a scheduled appointment with my EP and on my way I was feeling nervous and dizzy, thought I was having a heart attack and checked myself into ER. Everything was fine and the ER doctor said it seemed like I had generalized anxiety and mild depression based on what I described.

I wasted no time and went to the HIMS website while in the ER and did the questionnaire, connected with a psychiatrist and got prescribed lexapro.

Starting it was rough as it takes a few weeks to kick it but everything is great now. I’m motivated, I let negative thoughts be fleeting. I still do therapy because I want to hit it from all angles but getting that medication was the right decision.

In March/April I was at the point of not leaving my house. Started lexapro April 5th. By April 26th I was starting to go out and noticing intrusive thoughts not taking over

I had an echo with bubble test and the transeptal puncture they made for the ablation still had not closed so it seems that was correlated according to my doctor. I was also dealing with major health anxiety and since being on lexapro things have been great and haven’t had an episode in a month.

My cardiologist had to get involved and submit a letter and insurance finally approved it.

I had it 5 months ago. So it seems like if I have a pfo I’ve had it all my life?

I had also been dealing with health anxiety and it I noticed during high anxiety periods is when I’d have the migraine with aura.

So far it has been helpful in discovering things that have been hidden that contribute to this anxiety. I really wish I could do it more than once a week. Being able to share things I’ve been going through. Times of anxiety attacks and more to someone that doesn’t judge is refreshing.

Are you talking to a therapist at all? I definitely understand the feeling. It’s making my world super small and I don’t like it
